Our Cat Enclosure (And our foster kitty)

Thanks everyone! I would also like to report that Le Mew has been adopted and our cats are now enjoying the enclosure. :)

    Water Fountain

I am not sure which section this belongs in, so if this is the wrong one, I apologize. This section just seemed most suited. I decided to make the cats (and dogs) a water fountain. I've read that cats prefer running water (which is obvious) and will drink much more often if they're...

    Throwing up/Lethargic

Thanks, AC! Yes I know that about the fish, I hesitated to even buy any but I know that it's her FAVORITE (like many cats) and I'm willing to do anything to get her to eat until she's well again. Then, she'll be back on her regular food. Maybe chicken and rice for a few days. UPDATE Pooch...

    Throwing up/Lethargic

Yes, that's what I assumed. This morning I got her to take some chicken broth (with a tiny bit of mushed chicken) right after the antibiotics so that it would get rid of the taste and help settle her belly, it worked! She's now resting and grooming herself. Obviously, this really puts me at...

    Throwing up/Lethargic

She ate something (tuna/salmon) yesterday and kept it down! The Clavamox did make her puke later on, she only puked up water/antibiotics but Dr. Murdoch says that's normal. She seems to be doing MUCH better overall this morning.

    Throwing up/Lethargic

Not really, she just said keep a close eye and call in to update them on her. If she doesn't eat by tomorrow she will be going back in. Thomas (who's been checking on her much less than I have, to ensure that any changes in her condition would be obvious to him) says he thinks she looks way...

    Throwing up/Lethargic

Thanks, both of you! She's not eating yet. She has a full bowl of kibble, two water dishes and a bowl of canned food in the room that we've confined her to. She hasn't had a bowel movement yet (probably because she's not eating) but is urinating regularly.

    Throwing up/Lethargic

Thanks. She seems to be doing better this morning, I have been forcing her to drink water with an eye-dropper to keep her from becoming dehydrated again. The vomiting has stopped for now and she's not as lethargic anymore. Please keep your fingers crossed for her!

    Throwing up/Lethargic

Well, we took her in to see Dr. Murdoch, she says she's somewhat dehydrated and is running a slight fever. She injected her with some fluids and prescribed Clavamox in case of an infection. Dr. Murdoch said she seemed "bright and lively" so that's a good sign. She still seems lethargic but I...

    Throwing up/Lethargic

Pooch has been throwing up stomach acid all morning and seems lethargic. I'll be keeping a close eye on her in case she needs to see the vet. Any ideas? I thought maybe I should offer her some plain cooked chicken or something....

Our Cat Enclosure (And our foster kitty)

Thanks! Actually Minka, the stucco wire is folded under so that it sticks out about a foot into the enclosure, flat against the ground - I kind of pounded it on an angle so that it's digging into the ground a bit. I was originally planning to cover the wire in rocks to weigh the enclosure...

Our Cat Enclosure (And our foster kitty)

I just thought I would share some photos of our recently finished cat enclosure. One of my dogs, Bransen, standing in front of it and enjoying his new yard. Right now it is being occupied by our foster cat Le Mew. She has a little well-insulated makeshift house to stay in. We built...

    Wanted to share

Thanks everyone! I thought it would be some time before I saw those two cuddled up together. I came in from having a cigarette and that's what I found!

Just thought I would quickly share this photo of Pooch (our Tabby cat) and our newest addition, Hurls.

    Switching To Raw

I read more about the goldfish and they don't sound too good for them. I was going to use Guppies as snacks as I breed them but then I was thinking back to when Pooch once got a hold of a new batch I had waiting to be transported and she killed them, but didn't eat them. Crickets might be the...

Thanks for the info and advice everyone! Would whole feeder goldfish be a good meal for a day?

    New to TCS

Thanks for the warm welcome and barrage of information, everyone! I will be sure to finish reading the stickies and other information provided. I've been so busy lately and most of my online time gets sucked up on PBC. On top of finding out one of my dogs has a heart issue, I am now...

    Switching To Raw

We recently found out that one of our dogs (Bransen, almost 3 year old n/male Pit Bull mix) has a heart irregularity. It is unknown to us right now exactly what the condition is but our vet suspects it is a valve issue and may be an early sign of Heart Disease. This has given us that extra...
