Meow Mix's Market Selects? We tried feeding little Simba (or Simba Jr) the expensive "healthier" wet foods and most of it is usually left to dry in his plate.
As a gift from a neighbor; we got a few Market Select containers and Simba polished that off like he never ate before. Fortunately...
I'm waiting for my break to call the Vet...I'm a bit worried about Tiggy. He was dewormed so I don't think it's the issue; still...he has vomitted a few times (three times I can recall) in the past 3-4 weeks.
He usually vomits while I'm asleep (once when Sasha was still with us, once at my...
We're thinking of taking Tiggy on a road trip (to visit my parents) next week. I've made that trip many years ago with Geisha and Sasha (may they rest in peace) with much larger pet carriers in which I could fit a water & food dish, as well as a small litter box (don't ask, very DIY).
The...
Sasha was adopted from "a friend of a friend" of my ex-girlfriend back in 1992. He was terrified, had fleas and tapeworm. He was so frightened that he wouldn't eat the food I was presenting him. I dipped my finger in the food and held it under his nose to smell it.
He began licking my...
But I'm very worried. The original post is here: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...=224138&page=2
The Vet recommended that I step up Sasha's Sub Q treatments until I'm sure that last night (this early morning?)'s projectile vomiting episode was an isolated incident.
I phoned them again...
It's pretty clear that while he's on a battery of meds, Sasha's appetite is very bird-like...in fact I think I've seen birds with better appetites. I tried mushing up a sardine in Sasha's food to stimulate his appetite - no go, he hates the smell. The only way he eats is when I crack open a...
I microwaved a bit of Hi Tor for 15 seconds (to warm it up from the fridge) and fed it to Sasha who (to my relief) ate it. The Zeniquin must be given with food, so with Sasha's fledgling appetite, I'm happy he ate the 1/2 -1/4 teaspoonful I served him.
Popped the antibiotic with no problems...
Any thoughts on that particular brand? The chick at Global Pet foods suggested that particular brand for finicky cats, and my Tiggy is very finicky...
What worries me is the mention on that can that it should not be the sole source of nourishment for the cat, rather it's to be used as a...
That's three pills and SubQ treatments for those of you keeping count. Hopefully Sasha's appetite and behevior (litter box-wise) improves once the infection clears...
Dr White told me to discontinue Lysine treatments until we can figure out something he'll take; if he won't eat the food with...
Originally, he seemed to prefer Performatrin Ultra to kitten food (wet). At the Vet's urging, I switched him over to kitten food and tried Wellness Kitten formula (wet), which was a big hit; with the occasional small can of Taste of The Wild as a treat (wet); supplemented with his Royal Canin...
When I brought Sasha in for his first SubQ treatment, I asked the other Vet (not Dr White) to examine Sasha's teeth. He told me there was some gingevitis but the teeth didn't look abcessed.
To me however, one of his molars looked infected...and I can bet you that's the source of his bacterial...
I find the bag hard to read, is it possible to time (on average) how long it takes for a 100CC treatment? At least I could time it and make sure I'm in the ballpark...
Agreed, anything related to URI's won't be covered; (As it's a pre existing condition due to the feline herpes) but anything else (including dental) is covered up to $200.00 under the plan I selected + kenneling fees (should I be hospitalized), etc...
Time will tell if it's worth the $20.00 a...
Thus far Sasha's tried 2:
Hill's Prescription K/D Sasha hates it...though Tiggy seems to like it; go figure I must admit the smell of that food really reeks, the smell just grabs you as soon as you open the bag.
Medi Cal Prescription Low Protein: Sasha seems to like this one better, once...
Is anyone familiar with it? Form what I gather it's in its experimental stages, but certain types of music can be comforting or calming to cats while other types might pick up a lethargic cat...
Similarly, the soud of running water like a brook or a fountain might be soothing to a crabby cat...
Dr White (the Vet who saw Sasha at the Renforth Veteribary Clinic) mentioned a semi permanent port to facilitate Sub-Q treatments...
It's described in this link:
http://www.felinecrf.com/managh.htm
On the one hand it would make treatments easier (though the port would have to be moved once a...
He just has that Regal look, the medium length silky fur, and the tufts in the ears and between the toes...and let's not forget the majestic, fluffy tail!
I doubt he's pure breed; we adopted him from the Toronto Humane Society but...he was an abandoned kitten, who knows?
I'm sorry if this is turning into a blog of sorts...
I was surprised and happy to find out they (at the Renforth Vet Clinic) could see Sasha today. Agreed Sasha was a bit unhappy of being confined to the pet carrier and he did meow in protest at first...
But he was quiet on the way to the...
