questions for VIRGINIA RESIDENTS. ...moving soon from CA to Virginia

It was a huge relief. I now have a very sour disposition toward that particular uncle. He's out of touch with everything but thinks he knows it all. And throughout this whole transition he proven himself to be the jerk I always thought he was when I was younger. If VA wasn't so much better for...

questions for VIRGINIA RESIDENTS. ...moving soon from CA to Virginia

Hey everyone. I am moving to the Fairfax VA area to join relatives.  while it's not certain yet, I MAY need to TEMPORARILY board my 10-year-old male neutered cat Pumpkin. Unfortunately, the place my uncle rented for us doesn't take pets.  I want a place nearby that has a good reputation. Pumpkin...

    Pumpkin pulled a muscle

Hey there. Thanks so much for the recommendation. I found some pretty good prices on the Coquesin on Amazon. I will definitely order some. He doesn't seem to be arthritic, but I know it's a common thing among older cats and dogs, so I'm going to start him on some for maintenance. On his pulled...

    Pumpkin pulled a muscle

Hey guys. It's Pumpkin's loyal staff member again. Pumpkin was on top of the refrigerator and jumped down onto the kitchen floor. He's a big boy and almost 10. Of course he seems to now be favoring his left front leg a little when he walks. I keep telling him, when you're middle aged, you MUST...

    Pumpkin's senior blood panel results

So his royal badness is more than fine. All test results normal and he does not have any issues with thyroid, kidney, liver or any other organs.  Thanks so much everyone who responded last week in helping me stay calm and collected. The Doc did not feel the boniness I thought I felt, but he is...

Nature's Variety Dog Food - For Cats??????

Yes indeed. It's the petco on Foothill in Claremont, CA for anyone who lives in the Inland Empire or San Gabriel Valley portion of Southern Calif.   I was really pleased when I found out the petcos in the area sell it. I thought I would have to order most raw food materials online.

Muffin - Bad news vet visit today

I'm real sorry for the news. It's what every pet parent hates to hear about one of their furry companions. I'm thinking positive thoughts for you. And I hope everything turns out well.

Nature's Variety Dog Food - For Cats??????

This is cool. I had the same question. I went to Petco and asked for the raw cat food. I piked up the chicken medallions because Pumpkin is still on regular dry and canned cat food. I just fed him a thawd out piece. He loved it. But he'll eat anything.  my question is, does Natures Variety...

I'm a little worried this is slightly long any response is helpful

Thanks everybody for the responses. I will definitely bring up my concerns with the vet on Tuesday. Of those of you who feed a raw diet, can you recommend an online retailer who ships the food pre-made. The only animal products I personally eat are honey and cheese. So I'd like to avoid having...

I'm a little worried this is slightly long any response is helpful

I would love to put him on raw. I've been doing some research on that for a few years now. I think it would be great. And I wouldn't mind putting him on canned exclusively. I stuck to both canned and dry because he's always been really greedy and I thought he would gain weight more easily on...

I'm a little worried this is slightly long any response is helpful

hey there WhollyCat. I appreciate your response.  so you're saying 1/2 a cup per day is too much water for a cat to drink? He's always been a water drinker for the 8 years I've lived with him. And his blood panel came back normal last year. but his coat wasn't looking shabby then like it is...

I'm a little worried this is slightly long any response is helpful

Thanks so much I appreciate it. He does like to drink water, but I don't really know what is considered a lot of water for a cat. He drinks about 1/2 a cup a day. He likes to dip his paw in it. I always heard that that was good because its better for urinary health. He urinates about 2 or 3...

Hey all. I haven't posted in a few years. I have a nuetered male cat, named Pumpkin. He's 10 in October. He is strictly indoors. I noticed after his winter coat shedded that his fur on his back end is looking unkempt. I can also feel his ribs a little more than normal even though hes a very big...
