Hey there everyone,
So I have a situation where I'm striking out and don't know what to do to solve this issue with my kitty Clementine. It has definitely gotten worse in the last little while, which is why I'm coming to the forums for suggestions!
A little about my cat's background:
- she...
Hi everyone,
Earlier this summer I rescued a stray (or rather, she decided I would rescue her) and I'm still dealing with her litter issues. (tldr: she doesn't like to pee in her box, but in other specific places around my home)
Someone recommended that I check if she was spayed or not, which...
Hi everyone,
A month ago, a stray tabby cat found me and made her home with me.
She is clearly a cat that is used to humans. Very loveable and happy to stay inside. She has no desire to leave my place, asks rarely to go outside (I've stopped letting her) and despite me posting "found" notices...
Help, I need you're advice. I currently have the sweetest little kitty sleeping on my lap.
On Thursday afternoon I spotted her trotting across my patio and I made the first move and made friends with her by offering her some temptations. (I don't have a kitty anymore, and I miss it) She is...
Hi... I'm worried with a time-limited decision to make with my sick cat, Sophie. I know what my vet has advised me, but I would appreciate other opinions too, as this is weighing very heavily on me.
I'll outline the background info to explain how she got to today:
Dec 2014
- started pooping...
Hi TCS,
My 5 year old cat, Sophie, has been having some bowel problems for about 3 weeks.
It started with her passing gas, which was unusual for her. She's never been gassy before.
Then I noticed her inner eyelids started showing... which I hear is a sign of infection in the body, I think...
So.. I need new blinds. This is what Sophie has done to the soft, pliable aluminum ones I have.
When she has her crazy moments, she crashes into them headfirst. It sounds painful, but somehow she enjoys it.
What kind of blinds should I get to avoid this ugliness?
I have a few...
Hi, I haven't posted here in a while, but I need some advice!
Sophie is just over a year now, and is healthy, aside from having URI I discovered. However, I don't think the URI has any involvement in this issue.
She's just a picky eater.
When it comes to wet food, that is. I'm not worried...
Hey I know cats go through a teenager phase, but I'm not quite sure what kinds of behaviour that involves... I'm sure every cat is different, but can they get aloof and distant sometimes during this stage?
Sophie is 10 months old, and can be still pretty cuddly with me at times (when she's in...
I'm sure that's what she was thinking, anyways...
I was playing the piano tonight, and meanwhile Sophie woke up from probably her 5th nap of the day, ate, wandered around, and then decided she was bored. She sniffed the boxes laying out on the floor, and started chirping pitifully at me for...
Hi everyone
I'm really struggling to find the right feeding schedule for Sophie. I am feeding her both dry kibbles (max cat) and wet food (wellness).
Sometimes I feed her wet and she won't touch it, sometimes I feed it to her and she gobbles it up right away. Sometimes she seems to be...
Is this an okay thing to do? Or is it better for her digestion to be consistent about the brand I buy? I don't want to choose poor quality stuff, but I find if I buy different brands, she gets excited when she has something new to munch on. So far she's enjoyed Nutro, Max Cat, and Purina.
She's never done this before. She was in a kittenish, psycho mood, pining to go outside because of the sunny day, and plus she saw me getting ready to leave somewhere.
So she found a broken hair elastic, started gnawing on it, and consumed 3/4s of it.. so at least 2" of elastic is in her...
Hey everyone.
I just switched to trying a clumping litter instead of the pine pellets that I was using before.
With the pine pellets, about once a week, the pellets would be pretty much completely broken down, (not to mention a complete dusty mess) and I would toss the whole thing, clean the...
So today, I swear that Sophie caught a yawn from me. She was in a lazy, relaxed mood, and so I purposely made a big and juicy yawn in front of her. And 10 seconds later - there she goes!
Was it just coincidental? Have any of you noticed if human-to-cat yawns are contagious too???
PS. I bet...
Just curious. Sophie wears one -- just in case she ever escapes, and plus it's cute!
But she's much happier au naturel, and its nicer when you're stroking her.
So I'm interested - do you keep a collar on your indoor kitty?
Does anyone have any suggestions to make my kitty less stressed when I leave? When she sees me putting on my coat and shoes, she starts to spaz and race around the place like a maniac, scratching the furniture.
I will probably will try Feliway - but the infuser is so expensive!
My coworker...
Today was so nice and sunny! So we went outside for the first time!
I decided to transport Sophie outdoors in her carrier, so it doesn't feel any different than the trips to the vet and my parents house.
I also got a bell to ring each time we go outside, so hopefully eventually she'll be...
