I had to send Sasha off to the Rainbow Bridge this morning...She had never recovered over whatever it was she had. She was around 5 pounds and emaciated, dehydrated, her fur was falling out in clumps, and had these boils all over her body and that were only getting bigger. I thought of doing...
Lol, sorry about the Hypo-confusion. The "O" was a typo. I meant hypERthyroidism. I fixed in my OP but it didn't show up in the subject line. I'm calling the vet tomorrow to schedule bloodwork. The last few days she hasn't been making it to the litter box, instead having bowl movements near her...
Sasha is around 7. We are going to do bloodwork, but we're going with the bloody stool first and getting that out of the way. Plus my vet knows that money is an issue and he didn't want to throw too many things at once at me. No Sasha's a strictly in door cat, but it doesn't hurt to completely...
Since November I've noticed that Sasha has dropped an incredible amount of weight (she's now at 5 pounds) despite her eating all the time. At first I thought it was stress due to Phoebe but they've been acting like best of friends and have started grooming each other. But she also hasn't been...
Well I'm calling the vet tomorrow and I'm going to try to squeeze in an appointment for her as soon as possible. She pooped into Leo's cage once again tonight, and almost got him. I noticed she paws at the walls, standing upright on her back legs and does her business that way. She NEVER did...
Well, I removed the cover last night, and I tried just placing her in it (not forcing her) but she freaked out and ran away from it. I haven't changed the litter, and its the same litter she's used since I got her.
Hey guys, I recently got Phoebe spayed on November 6th, and ever since then her personality and bathroom habbits have been completely different. She's calmed down in the zooming around the house sense, but has gotten naughtier. Jumping on things she knows she's not allowed on. The spray bottle...
I went back to the animal shelter to give the paper work for Phoebe's rabies shots the other day, and this one worker tried to guilt trip me about getting another cat. The day that I went to the shelter to pick out a cat I also looked at this one boy who was about a year old, jet black with...
It is really really soft. See with the calico thing on her papers from the animal shelter they had her under "grey calico" so I figured they meant dilute, but then I saw some tabby-ness there like with the M on her forhead and the rings on her legs.
But whatevs, she's the first cat I've had...
Oh! I've never heard of that before. Now I know! You're right she does have a ton of personality. She loves to scare the crap out of me by jumping onto my computer chair while I'm blasting my iPod in my ears. She's napping beside me now.
Hmm. Well all right. I guess I was just having wishful thinking. They put her as a DLH at the animal shelter that I got her from, but I guess I was hoping for more. But thanks for clearing it up!
I just recently adopted a beautiful dilute calico named Phoebe and while I was looking at her I noted that she had a lot of the physical characteristics of a Maine Coon. I looked up some videos on YouTube of MC's and their meows sounded exactly like hers and she even 'trills' like MC's can...
