    Prescription Food?

Hmm, is there any leeway in doing a combo of dry/wet? We both work and are gone all day. I don't see any feasible way to feed him 3-4 meals of wet food each day?

    Prescription Food?

Our 5 year old male cat was diagnosed with FLUTD yesterday, and we were given a prescription for Royal Canin Urinary SO food. Thoughts? It's giving me pause to feed a food with the first few ingredients being chicken meal, rice, and corn. We've always fed grain free (either Taste of the Wild or...

New baby coming - adjusting cats?

I haven't posted here since our furbabies were tiny (they're 2 now!), but I'd love some advice from "cat people" Lots of non-cat-people are giving us terrible advice and I want to make sure we're doing the right thing for our baby AND our furbabies. I'm pregnant with our first baby in June...

Does your indoor cat wear a collar?

I sadly had to put myself into the "they used to" category We put very lightweight collars on them with the no-hang tags from when they were very little. After a few months of them taking them off once a week or so and us putting them back on, they started hiding them. Literally I'd put them...

    One Kitten?

If you can only afford one, it's definitely okay to just get one. I will say though, I thinking having two is less work than having one. We got sibling rescues and they LOVE each other. They follow each other room to room, keep each other company while we're at work all day, and practically...

    Shredded/chunky consistency

Our cats prefer the shredded texture as well. We've found the meow mix pouches work well. (But if your guys have UTI problems all the flavors seem to have a fish broth base, I think that might be bad?) I haven't tried it, but I've been meaning to pick up a couple of cans of Before Grain wet...

Help me choose a grain free food?

That's a great price! I pay $25/big bag for TOTW. It's still much more affordable than many other high quality foods though.

Try this out on your cat - concerned cat when human pants

I just read this post yesterday so I tried it last night. Reilly tore out of the room like a bat out of hell. Lilah backed away from me and her tail puffed up twice the size. How strange that it makes them freak like that!!

    kitty hugs

That is one of the cutest things I have ever heard! No huggers at our house but I do get little kisses on my face. I'm going to try to make mine do this tonight. I'm sure they'll have no interest

Does anyone else play with their cat in the bathroom?

Also, our master bath is the ONLY room in the house they aren't allowed in (our walk in closet is in there, there's always laundry everywhere that I don't want them laying in, etc) They will lay right at the door if one of us is in there just waiting for us to come out.

My cat doesn't like fish, chicken, turkey, pork that much, but likes beef.

My cats are beef enthusiasts also! Their absolute favorite is the "filet of beef" meal (not sure of brand. Yellow pkg, maybe meow mix?). they will barely eat other wet food, but if I put that down they lap up every last drop as soon as I put it down and cry for more!

I lost Ollie for about 2 minutes

We very often get what we call a "drawer full of kitty!" Sometimes there are places that I swear their skullbones could never fit into that the manage to get into!

Does anyone else play with their cat in the bathroom?

Reilly loves to drink out of the bathtub. If one of us goes in the bathroom he goes bolting in there as fast as his little legs will carry him, gets on the ledge of the bathtub and cries if we don't turn it on. When he was tiny, and my husband first turned on the water and he discovered...

    Love's his "2nd bathroom"

Too funny. Hopefully it's just the newness. Like PP said, ours will use the empty box when I move it three feet from it's normal spot if I don't get it refilled fast enough when cleaning!

    3 A.M. nose licks...

Little Lila is escalating with her 3 am visits. Started with her just standing on my chest. Then came sitting on my chest purring as loud as she could with her face almost touching mine. Then she started kneading my chest (and we got a little better about clipping her nails. Yow!) Then she...

operation crazy cat lady is proceeding nicely

My husband has a kitty ear thing too He's always grabbed cats' ears and babytalked them? His brother does it too, I think their dad did it! Tell your husband two cats are WAY better than one, they keep each other company!

    Clipping her nails...should I?

I wasn't that good about clipping ours until she developed the habit of kneading my chest to wake me up in the middle of the night. Yow! Now I clip them so I don't get scratched when she's just trying to be sweet.

    Furminator?

Update: I love it!! Reilly LOVES it. he let us do his whole coat and kept coming back for more. Rolling over so we could get every side, it was so cute And it did a great job, he's barely been shedding at all since we did it. Lila tolerates it, but she isn't quite as enamored with it as her...

    Cat Collars ???

Another rec from me for ragtime collars with a boomerang collartag. If she's bothered by collars, it's a great setup. Super lightweight since it's made of fabric, no dangly tag to annoy her, and they break away pretty easily if she gets caught in something so you don't have to worry. Every now...
