Awhile ago, I bought the "Neater Feeder" to use for my cat Jupiter's water dishes, as he would always play around with his dish and end up spilling it everywhere. Its worked well for quite awhile, but recently he's figured out how to play with and tip over the Neater Feeder, so it can't do its...
Poor old Jupiter is off to the vet in a couple of hours. He doesn't seem to be in major distress so I doubt this is very serious, but being a meowmy who loves her kitty, I want to check this out.
To put it bluntly - his butt stinks!!! Based on what I've read on various threads on this site, I...
Just a few pictures of the silly things I've caught Jupiter doing recently!
This is one of those cardboard scratching mats, that Jupiter seems to enjoy destroying instead! He likes to rip apart any kind of cardboard and play with it, so we have to be careful what we leave out in boxes...
Hi everyone! Thank you to all who have posted on my other thread about Jupiter (http://www.thecatsite.com/t/248210/cat-doesnt-seem-to-know-his-limits-and-tires-himself-out). He's actually getting a lot better with his breathing, and we're learning to really monitor him when he plays. We're...
We have had our new cat Jupiter for about two weeks now, and we're starting to notice something that we haven't experienced with other cats we've had, so I'm coming here for some help from you friendly folks!
Here's as much background information as we have about him:
-10 to 11 months old, DSH...
After having to put down our beloved George back in April 2012, my fiancee and I have begun the search to find a new furry friend. We have been checking out various shelters and rescue groups in our area, and after much searching we have applied to adopt a cat named Jupiter! Here is his photo...
We had to put George down yesterday. This is my first cat I've ever had (only other pets I've ever had were fish) and this was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life.
We adopted him from the Humane Society in 2007, he was born in 2005. We loved him right away. He was the sweetest...
George hasn't been eating very much for the past few days (very abnormal for him, usually he gobbles up all the car food in sight!!!). He was barely touching his dry food, so I tried giving him some wet food which has helped in previous occasions when he has acted like this. He nibbled a little...
Ohhh my George is at it again.....
Lately he's become quite curious when we're in the kitchen.....so much so that he will hop up on the garbage pail lid whenever I'm working at the counter so he can keep track of what I'm doing!
The funny thing is, we've never put him up there or encouraged...
I just realized that one year ago today, we brought George home from the humane society, and we've had a great time with him ever since! I've really enjoyed having him so far, and look forward to many more years of fun.
Happy Gotcha Day Georgie!!!
from your Meowmy
Just got George a spiffy blue collar tonight, the Safe Cat kind that breaks away if it gets caught on something. He's a rescue kitty so I don't know if he's ever worn a collar before, but I'm guessing not by his reaction! He keeps licking it!
I have it set so I can fit two fingers between his...
I think it is time for our cat George to go have his first date with a groomer, as he seems to need a "butt cut" as I have seen it referred to on here.
I am also noticing the hair on the bottom of his paws is growing really long, and I'm wondering if this needs to be trimmed up by the groomer...
It is a bit cold in my apartment tonight, so I have been using a colourful pink penguin blanket to keep me warm. I put the blanket on the floor and went to use the bathroom for a second, and when I returned, George was sitting on it, kneading it with his paws and having a great time. I said to...
I have noticed today that on one of George's front paws, the skin on his pads seems to be dry (like humans experience with their hands in the winter). He even has a small piece of dry skin that looks like it's flaking off. All other three paws are normal.
Is this a concern? Totally natural? Am...
George has a new thing he likes to do when I'm having breakfast. As soon as he sees me pouring a bowl of cereal for myself, he'll hop up on the other chair at the table and sit with me while I eat!
And once I am almost done and I start to drink the last bit of milk in the bowl, he hops down...
Hello from myself and George the cat. He is a two year old orange tabby, and full of spunk and life! He loves to play with his catnip toys and his bright yellow ball, and of course, any type of string-like thing he can get his paws on. We got him from the humane society here back in August, and...
I am going to attempt to give George his first bath tonight with my boyfriend, and I was just looking for some seasoned veterans to give me some insight.
-What temperature should the water be?
-Places we should/shouldn't be washing?
-How often should we really be doing this for him?
-Anything...
My two year old cat George seems to chew on his claws from time to time. (On his rear paws, as his front was declawed by someone else before we brought him home from the shelter.) We do trim them for him periodically, so I was wondering if it was normal for him to be a nail biter, or if this was...
