    Feline Paper Shredder

I am so glad Leo does not go for the plastic bags - I would be worried he would suffocate! He is so sweet and innocent looking when you catch him too! This is him watching my son pick up the pieces of his homework. I am sure his internal dialogue is something like..."Hey! Watcha doin'? I was...

    Feline Paper Shredder

Believe me - we try. But I must be underestimating his sneakiness! He pulled several papers out of my son's backpack (which was partially zipped closed) and shredded them. Thank goodness he has the weekend to re-do them, because I do not know how well the "my cat ate my homework" defense flies...

    Feline Paper Shredder

Does anyone else have a kitty that LOVES to tear up/shred/chew on paper? Does anyone know why they do this and what I can do to get him to stop?

    My Kit-kats

Yeah - Crookshanks is a real love. He just may cause me to fail fostering 101 (again!). He has been playing Mr. Mom to Nala, Simba and Bagheera. It is really quite amazing.

    My Kit-kats

I made a slide show with pics of my cats along with the cats I am/have fostering/ed to date. They all have huge chucks of my heart! http://www.rockyou.com/show_my_galle...nceid=85131395

    A nursing male cat

Thanks for your responses. I took them ALL in to be spayed/neutered on Wednesday and since then the behavior has fallen way off. Not sure why - but at least Crookshanks is getting a little more "alone" time.

I need advice on finding Kitten homes!!!

Go on petfinder.com and put in a search under cats and your local zip codes. This will bring up the list of rescues adopting in your area. Call as many as you need to see what help they can offer. Sometimes, if you can still offer to be the foster parent, that gives them more leeway in the help...

    A nursing male cat

Yes- you read that right! I just got in a new foster family of kittens. Momma and 3 babies. Only thing is - that ain't Momma! He is an un-neutered male that has taken over the care of these babies - including "nursing"!! Now, these babies are eating dry food but they still go back at least...

    Cat making "chewing" motions

I am a little concerned about one of my foster kitties. He was part of a feral colony and I got him when he was about 12-14 weeks old. He is now about 5 months old and still not a lap kitty, but he tolerates me. Lately - he has been making these chewing/chomping motions with his mouth. Sometimes...

    Spay/heat question

I do not know. The original owners surrendered her and her babies last weekend. I have only had her since Sunday. She is also attacking her babies, not play like at all. I have had to separate them. When she is not yowling, she has a low continuous growl going. The only place I have to keep...

    Spay/heat question

I am fostering a momma and her 3 kitties. The kitties are about 10 weeks old and so I took everyone in to be spayed/neutered. I noticed the night before I took the Momma in that she was beginning to display some of the signs of going into heat and sure enough - the vet confirmed this when they...

    Fostering ferals

Thank you all again. I got one of those dangly-things on a stick and have been playing with them. They really seem to like it, but they never forget for a minute that I am on the other end of the stick. I have given the treats and the food and have worked up to the point where each of them...

    Kitten not eating/gaining weight

My 3 month old kitten barely eats anything. She is playful and romps around with no problems. Her body frame is getting larger, but she is not gaining any kind of mass. She looks like a greyhound kitty! The vet has tested her for just about everything from worms to thyroid and she comes up...

    Fostering ferals

Thank you. I had read that and I am doing those things. I just feel as if we have reached a stalemate - they haven't really progressed any from last week. I will keep trying though!

    Fostering ferals

Hi there! I am a fairly new foster mom working with a local rescue group. This is my 3rd batch of kittens, but my first ferals. I got them at about 12 weeks old and they are about 14 weeks old now, 2 girls and a boy. I am keeping them in my master bathroom together because I really have no other...

    Excessive litter box scratching

My momma cat has this thing about scratching, scratching, scratching (did I mention scratching) around in the litter box FOREVER after she goes. She is using it, so I am not sure what this is about. I'm worried about trying to change this for fear that she might take it to mean I do not want her...

Okay - I wasn't sure if it was something I should get her to the vet for.

    Nursing Momma cat question

I am torn between this forum and the Health one, so if this is the wrong place - I apologize. This is my first experience with a nursing mother. Most of Gracie's babies have been adopted out but one. Gracie was spayed at the end of last week and I have noticed that her teats have all greatly...
