    Does Milo really need castrating?

So Milo came home yesterday and was pretty much fine, apart from sleeping through all of yesterday evening and most of last night, he seems 100% normal. The vets done a great job, very clean and tidy work!! The only problem now is he wants to go outside, he can see Millie through the glass and...

    Does Milo really need castrating?

Ok, so after the useful advice, Milo is checked-in for his operation tomorrow. He's being dropped off in the morning and staying with the vets all day, I'll pick him up after work. Does anyone have any advice on 'post op care', how long does he need to stay indoors for after the operation and...

    Does Milo really need castrating?

Thanks for the advice guys; it seems itâ€8482s a fairly unanimous decision to get Milo neutered. I'll get him booked in with the vet ASAP. I just hope it doesn't affect his personality in the long term, it would be a great shame if his character changed post-op !!! Thx Iain

    Does Milo really need castrating?

Hi everyone, I'd really appreciate a bit of advice on this; We have two cats at home, a 2 year old female neutered cat called Millie, and Milo, a 7 month old male. They both get on pretty well (except for the usual mini-cat fights and chasing each other around the house), so I'm a bit...

Adult cat keeps pinning down and licking kitten !!

Thanks for the comments, I thought it would probably be a social interaction thing. It's funny looking at Mylo's face when he is being restrained and licked, it kinda reminds me of a baby when his mum is trying to clean his face

Adult cat keeps pinning down and licking kitten !!

I have this other thread running http://thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150022 but wanted to understand better how cats/kittens interact, as I've never owned two cats before. My little kitten Mylo (10-12 week old male) keeps getting jumped on and pinned by Millie (18-month old female). I...

    Mylo arrives !!!

Just another question; Mylo is currently in our bedroom during the day and sleeps with us at night, he's very friendly and likes to stay close. Millie has rarely slept with us before, but has had access to our room until now, but because of the constant fighting we've had to lock her out of...

    Mylo arrives !!!

Itâ€8482s a bit complicated, but basically my younger brother is in the armed forces and is based in the South of England. One of his colleagues had a cat which I believe he found as a stray and took care of. The cat became (or was already) pregnant and gave birth to a litter. This was...

    Mylo arrives !!!

Thanks for the response. On another note, the introduction seems to have taken a turn for the worse. Millie (the resident cat) has started to get more aggressive towards Mylo. She seems to be fine for most of the time, just watching him and occasionally getting close to sniff him. However...

    Mylo arrives !!!

Sorry, just trying to BUMP this thread to get a response on the vaccination question - does anyone know if it is safe to give a kitten a second dose of injections? I'm not 100% sure if Milo has had them already and i'd rather be safe than sorry. I suppose asking the vet is a good start, but just...

    Face-patting cat!

LOL, this sounds familiar. We've just picked up a new kitten Milo, he not only pats your face, but wants to physically sit on it. It seems he is obsessed with human heads. Whenever we go to sleep he literally sits on your cheek or neck. Strange little chap he is

need some help decididing if i should get a friend for my cat

We've literally just done the same thing. We already had an 18-month old Female cat called Millie who spends most week days on her own when we are at work. She was and still is a bit timid and doesn't like be handled too often, however she was very vocal constantly meowing and chirping for...

    Mylo arrives !!!

Our new kitten arrived on Friday and we have named him Mylo (Male, 10-12 weeks old). He's a great little chap, eager to explore and play with anything that moves. So far he's doing great and has one of the loudest purrs I've ever heard. We've had to lock him in our bedroom with his toys, tray...

He's eating almonds. What weird things does you cat eat?

My cat Millie loves dried spaghetti. I gave her a stick to play with one day when I was cooking, after about 1 minute it had all gone and she was meowing for more. This is especially strange, as she is probably the fussiest eater I have ever seen, to the extent that she won't eat 90% of regular...

Advice needed about introducing a new kitten?

Hiya, We have been offered a 12-week old kitten (we can choose either a male or female) from a friend, whose cat has recently had a litter. The situation is that our existing cat Millie, (who is about 18-month old, fully neutered, electronically tagged etc) spends most of her weekdays alone...

"Poor abandoned Kitty" noises for no reason

We have exactly the same problem with Millie. It's not a meaow more of a chirp or 'burrrrp, burrrrrp' noise. She only does it when we are either in bed (trying to sleep) or if one of us is out and the other is say upstairs on the internet. She usually sits on the bottom step of our stairs (or...

In or out, that is the question???

Tekgrl - Its the roof that is angled, not the window, so it's not a problem. Basically I have a single story extension to the rear of the house. Millie often jumps on the wall and then on the roof and sits there reviewing the surroundings. As I can't reach her when I want her to come in, and...

In or out, that is the question???

Thanks for all the responses. To answer a couple of the questions; On a leash - this is probably a no-go I'm afraid, she's a pretty independent cat and I can't imagine her taking to a harness to kindly. Anyway, when we are around and outside, it isn't a problem as we can keep an eye on her...

In or out, that is the question???

Hello all, We have a 10-month old cat (Millie) who is chipped, fully vaccinated and has been spayed. Over the past 5-6 weeks we have started to let her outdoors at weekends, during the evening and occasionally early in the morning. So far, so good, and she seems to enjoy the freedom of this new...

    Introducing another cat/kitten

Well she isn't really a pure breed (she was a rescue cat), basically she is black/white moggy. She is quite a social cat and will follow you around the house (when not sleeping) or she can disappear for a couple of hours and keep herself entertained. She isn't overly vocal, but she does have her...
