cat that is constanting biting/chewing thinags, help!

sorry i'm of no help, but do want to sympathize. Clinton is about 9 months and the past 2 or 3 weeks he's been crazy, trying to eat anything paper or cardboard he can get his hands on. this is just a phase...right!

    A sweater?

Clinton doesn't seem to mind the occassional shirt (or even his coat i bought him for traveling to my mother's in chicago later this week - i want him to be able to explore the snow ) But he coincidently also hates wearing his collar, but the harness he'll tolerate. oh those furkids!

    Music For Cats and Friends

i listened to a couple of the segments online, and it was very mellow and relaxing, however, i can't say that Clinton cared at all what i was listening to. might be kind of neat to try though if it could be found affordably.

    What's your favorite canned food?

I loved the ingredients in Merrick, and Clinton loved the taste but it didn't agree with him. The only canned food I've found that he likes and agrees with him is Natural Balance.

Essential oil and cats??? need some info

I'm so glad I caught this thread. I have an oily scalp and face and have been using products for me that contain tea tree oil (though now i'm seriously considering finding something else!). While I always keep my products away from Clinton, he does sometimes like to come give me the big sniff...

    Rawhide Chews??

When Clinton was teething he didn't like the chilly kitty toys, but he did have a small gummy nylabone that he loved to chew on. It was the size made for yorkies and was chicken flavored, but his favorite was still the legs on the coffee table, oh well! good luck!

    Single cat games?

My little man of the house has a cat dancer, other wand type toys, "prey" toys, ball track, stuffed animals, laser pointer, and blankies we use for wrestling. I know, he's spoiled. He has so many toys we rotate them to keep them interesting. I can usually tell what kind of play he wants by...

Your favorite brand of food for kittens?

I feed my kitten Innova EVO (it's an all stages food). While people have varying opinions, I've had wonderful luck with the EVO and support the Natura line.

    College?

I voted have degree, but there definitely should have been a column for "will be going forever!" I finished my B.A. in International Relations, and am now 1 long month away from being 1/2 done with my J.D.!!! So, with CLE, I guess I really will be going for the rest of my life... oh the career...

    Pet Friendly Insecticides?

I had a vet tech recommend Camicide, which is a bird safe insecticide (but not safe for reptiles and other cold blooded animals). I unfortunately had to have my home professionally treated, so haven't had to try it yet, but it did come highly recommended from the vets office. good luck!

Cat doesn't like my clarinet playing?!

i have to concur that it's a kitty choice. my mom's cat never had a problem with my flute or piccolo when i lived there, and the dog loved to lay at my feet when i played. now that i have my own home and furbaby, he's petrified of my guitar when the amp is on, and likes to attack the 'ol flute...

My kitty swallowed a toy feather?

is it just the feather he ate or was there toy attached? was it real or synthetic? just some things i would think about in determining its digestability. i would watch him carefully, to make sure nothing gets stuck while it is ummm passing. hope he's okay!

    Cost of flea treatment? WOW!

Yes, there is definitely sticker shock on those flea treatments, but I figure that's just part of the fun of being a pet mommy. Besides, the protection is worth every penny. I think I pay about $45 for 4 months of Advantage (depending on whether it's on sale at the vet or not). Since you...

    Kittens first night not confined

Sorry, I have no advice, but I sure do sympathize. I remember being so scared the first night Clinton had run of the house. I don't think I slept a wink that night, constantly listening to see what he was up to. And even now (he's 8mo.) I think he's made me a lighter sleeper, like I always...

Has anyone tried California Natural dry food?

I personally have not fed either of those foods, but I use other formulas by both those companies (Innova EVO dry, and Natural Balance wet). I have only heard good things about both foods you mentioned, and Pat & Alix is an amazing resource on nutrition issues. Best of Luck!

    Poop on Butt

do you have long hair that she could be eating, that's consequently getting stuck coming out? that was clinton's problem. he would nurse my hair (still sometimes does) and then eat it and have problems passing it. as previously suggested, trimming the fur around the tushie can help (or at...
