Thanks. This is what the package says, "treats and controls seven species of worms: two tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum and Taenia pisiformis), two roundworms (Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina) and three hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Ancylostoma braziliense and Uncinaria stenocephala)."...
It's difficult to touch him, but I was able to get a topical on him a couple months ago, but I didn't see any change in the bald spots, so that's why I assumed worms?
The reason I'm asking is because I tried 1 pill about 6 weeks ago, but he still has the bald patches and I'm not sure what...
One of the ferals I'm feeding has worms. Actually saw one on his butt. :climbcat: Also, he has lots of bald spots, someone told me it could be from the worms.
I purchased the PetArmor 7 way Dewormer. It says one pill for up to 12lbs. Problem is I don't know how much this cat weighs. He is...
One of the feral cats I have been feeding has developed bald patches over his body the past few months. Today I saw a worm sticking out of his butt. I believe he has either tape or round worms. I can't catch him and get him to the vet. I am thinking to order Drontal pills and to put it in...
Thanks Mazie- I do wear gloves when I feed them. Part of the reason I am extra cautious is that when I was feeding some outdoor cats where I work years ago I got scratched. Anyway, years later I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and they told me I was also positive for Bartonella AKA Cat...
He seems quite friendly and I have briefly touched him a several times, but I don't think he's used to being touched and has swiped at me once or twice when I guess I rubbed him the wrong way.
He's funny he walks right next to me, almost on top of me and will rub up against my legs. He will...
Thanks Shadows...you are so knowledgeable. I think I have rescue remedy that I purchased for my dog, but I haven't really used it because it seemed to make her very groggy. I will check the label and see if I can use it for cats.
I have 3 that come regularly and kind of tolerate each other...
Sarthur- I spoke to the Animal Control Officer who runs the program in my town and he told me the will release him in the same area he is trapped in.
I'm just worried he will get spooked and not want to come around any longer. Do cats usually freak out when they are trapped and neutered?
Thanks Sarthur2, they said they would trap him the night before and they would bring him somewhere to be neutered the next morning.
He is such an outgoing cat, I don't know why someone would leave him. He loves to talk and walks around the house outside several times a day announcing himself...
That's good, I hope they treat the ears for mites. I will definitely mention the mange. He has become increasingly friendly. I found out from a neighbor that she remembers someone moving a long time ago and leaving him behind. I guess he's not a true feral.
Thanks, yes, Revolution. I guess it takes a while to heal, hopefully it will keep getting better. I also contacted my town. They have a TNR program. But I am a little scared that they will not return him if they think he has too many other issues with the skin??? Am I just being paranoid?
I just wanted to provide an update. It's been a little over a month since the first dose and I think he is looking a little better except the ears are still dark and without much hair. I just gave the 2nd dose a couple days ago.
Thanks Surya. I will give it a try. In the mean time, I had some Food Grade Diatemaceous earth, so I was able to sprinkle it on him. I read somewhere that it is helpful to kill fleas, ticks and mites
Has anyone ordered from discountpedmedication.biz before? There is a bulk 12 month supply kit of the revolution for $54. Looks like it comes in bulk vial with a syringe. I would have to measure it out. Otherwise the 6 month standard individual revolution packets are $65
Thanks Sarthur-
Yes, he has had a tough go of it. When I started feeding him he was only walking on 3 legs, his other leg was all swollen and he couldn't walk on it. Thank God that healed...he has gained some weight since he eats twice a day now.
I know I will eventually have to get him to...
