New kitten hiding in box and growling

Sorry didn't reply sooner, we had some nasty storms move through here. I'd wait to let her out since she was feral at one time and you have another kitty resident. Time frame depends totally on her, and I'd certainly wait until the fear and aggression has subsided. I'd wait until you two have...

Emergency! Sick kitten! Cannot see a Vet!

In many countries in the Middle East and Asia it is still available in the original form, which as the name indicates in latin, is soluble mercury(and she mentioned it was old). In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't really banned all that long ago in countries like the US(late '90s), so the...

New kitten hiding in box and growling

You should try to engage her, but you have to watch your body language while doing so to avoid her feeling more threatened. Let her see your face, but not so close she can scratch it, try to soften your eyes by partially closing them and slowly blinking, soften your whole expression if possible...

    Cat peeing in bathroom sink

It could be a UTI, but I had a cat that preferred tubs and sinks to pee in, only would poop in the litter box. She started when she was about five years old after we moved, I didn't mind it because she never went any where else, but I did have her checked out when she started it initially...

Emergency! Sick kitten! Cannot see a Vet!

With the yogurt, if you can add a teaspoon in every feed, that'd be best, but twice a day would also be good at the least. Kefir is just a reference to the culture used in making the yogurt, it tends to be more liquid consistency with almost a slight fizz to it - pellets can be ordered online to...

Noob - but not with kitties

I need to take more up to date photos, but these are what I have on the computer right now. The top is my boy when I got him, next was taken about eight months ago, he's gotten bigger and fluffier since then. The two bottom photos, are Margaret and Margot when I got them a little over two weeks...

Noob - but not with kitties

Just posting to say "Hello".  I'm new to the site, but I've had cats all my life, and have taken in many rescues over the years, as well as reared many kittens. My current brats include two six week old torbie "fosters"(they're staying), and a one-and-a-half year old DLH I picked up from...

Emergency! Sick kitten! Cannot see a Vet!

Having just read this entire thread, I just wanted to comment a couple things... First off, good job on the kitten, you've done well! Don't worry about any kitten specific diets, what you're feeding her is perfect and closer to what nature actually intended for our feline beasts. With the more...
