Thinking About Making Changes To My Cat's Diet...

Hi all, I've been considering making some changes to my cat's food, but it seems like I've heard a lot of conflicting information, so I'm not sure what's best. I currently feed her Instinct dry 2x a day. I'd heard that feeding wet is better due to the high moisture content, but at our last...

    Favorite Fancy Feast Flavor

I try to stick to the seafood and wheat-free Classics, but my girl usually only takes a few bites here and there. She'll eat an entire can of anything that's chopped/diced in gravy, or those cream-like Elegant Medleys in the greenish cans. I try to limit how much of those I feed her, but it's...

    Asthma Inhaler

Moscato's been taking an oral steroid to treat her asthma symptoms. Her vet and I discussed the option of weaning her off the pills and transitioning her to an inhaler, specifically AeroKat. In addition to word-of-mouth, I've done a little bit of research and it seems like oral steroids aren't...

Recommendations for fragrance free clumpable litter?

I love Petco's generic litter! I find that it clumps very well and does a decent job controlling odor. I've used the regular unscented in the green & white bucket as well as the multi-cats scented purple & white.

    Young cat occasionally wheezing/coughing

Thank you all so very much for your responses!  The vet examined Moscato yesterday and when she listened to her lungs, she said they definitely sounded a little inflamed. One very expensive X-ray later and we saw that the veins inside her lungs looked inflamed, so my girl's going to be on...

    Young cat occasionally wheezing/coughing

I've actually never seen/heard her cough up a hair ball, to be honest! Since hairballs haven't been an issue in the past (I'm pretty sure she's never, ever had one; she's 11 months old), I'm not really sure what might sound 'normal' or not.

    Young cat occasionally wheezing/coughing

A few weeks ago Moscato started having these short coughing (wheezing?) fits. She'll crouch low to the ground and start to cough, but not quite hack and I've never seen her throw anything up. Sometimes the cough sounds dry, sometimes a little phlegmy, but it almost always sounds a little squeaky...

How often should I be feeding my 7 month old?

Hi, all! My roommate and I leave a grain-free dry food out all day for our kitties. I feed Moscato her own wet food daily, but I feel better leaving the dry out for her because my schedule can be crazy and unpredictable and sometimes I'll be away from home for a large chunk of the day. She...

Pooping and peeing in sink and tub?

So far she's been using her box again, and I've been scooping it every time she and our other cat use it to keep it pristine. Hopefully that does the trick!

Cat Introductions - How am I doing?

Hi there!  I was in your situation a few months ago when I brought my kitten home for the first time. Your introductions sound like they've been going exactly how mine went. After being separated for the first few days, my kitten Moscato and my roommate's cat Winston would play footsies under...

Pooping and peeing in sink and tub?

My six month old cat Moscato has recently taken a liking to sinks and bathtubs. She grew interested with water faucets and would even stick her head under the sink head to lap up some water while I brushed my teeth. Then, one day, she squatted and peed in the sink right in front of me.  That...

Thoughts on Fancy Feast Medleys & Iams Purrfect Grain Free?

Hi, all! It's been a while since I've posted here but I think I could use some of your expertise.  I was at Target picking up some food for Moscato today when I discovered Iams Purrfect Grain Free. I picked up a couple cans of the wet chicken variety to see if she'd eat it. One is a pate in...

5 month old kitten panting when playing?

She really does act like she's in heaven with those things, haha. It's nice to know what sort of toy she prefers now so when I purchase new ones, I know exactly what to get! Now I can smile if I catch her panting because I'll know she's just having a great time.

5 month old kitten panting when playing?

Moscato and I recently discovered her favorite type of toy. She absolutely LOVES playing with small stuffed toys that are mouse-sized. She bats them around, chases them, and carries them around in her mouth until she gets them stuck underneath something, lol. After playing with this type of toy...

Post pics of calicos, tortieshells and orange cats here!

Double posting but I just took some more pics of Moscato. She looks so grown up compared to how small she was in her other pics, wah! Going in for the kill, lol.
