    Poorly paws

I'm hoping that's the case and It will heal up. It's no better or worse than when I found it a few days ago. Has anyone heard of pillow paws? I'm worried it could be that. Think I'll take him to the vet on Monday just to be sure!

    Poorly paws

Hi Lorie D. Tyger is an outdoor cat but he doesn't go out too much. The area that's broken is actually the soft pad but it's hard to see from the picture. It doesn't seem to be bothering him which is good. I'm not sure why the 2nd picture didn't upload. I'll try again...

    Poorly paws

Hi all, My lovely boy tyger has had two areas on both of his front paw pads that the skin has broken. It's odd because it's both sides but it would be difficult to for him to have stood on something and caught his paws and again it's in a odd spot if he has got in a bit of a scrap. I'm...

    ramps for cats

I hadn't thought about a cat tree. Yes that would be the best solution as wouldn't have the space for chairs and stools etc in front of the window. Thanks for the suggestions!!

    Reaction to tramadol

Just hope he will be a little more comfortable after today. It's horrible seeing them getting old. He seems happy though so I think we just have to monitor it. And definitely no more tramadol for Tyger! Thanks for you support.

    Reaction to tramadol

Hi Poppyheart, Thanks for asking how it went. The X-rays showed that he has spondylosis to his lower spine ( which is extra growth of bone to the vertebra). He also has a kyphosis (curvuture of the spine) and both this problems are causing the nerves to occasional get nipped and that's why his...

    ramps for cats

Thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately though our windows are fairly high from the ground so I'm not sure the steps or small slopes would work. I'm not sure if the car ramps would be safe to lean against a Windows sill. That's why I wondered if anyone had ever used any? I guess it might...

    ramps for cats

Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows where is best to get a large ramp to allow access to a window? My cat Tyger loves jumping up to the front window but he has been struggling to do this recently and has been falling over. He is 13 years old and had X-rays taken yesterday which show he has...

    Hello

Thank you Kat0121 and Mamanyt1953 very kind. We went thinking we would adopt a kitten, but saw all these older cats who had been in the shelter for sometime due to their age. They were both so loving we couldn't help but change our minds within minutes of being there. I nearly left with the all...

    Reaction to tramadol

Thank you for your replies. Poppy heart, yes tramadol can be have awful side effects in humans too, particularly older adults. I work in health care so I have some experience of the side effects of it in humans but I had no idea how it would affect poor Tyger. The vet seemed to be very relaxed...

    Hello

Thank Margd that's very kind. I think if it was possible to reach through the screen and give them some fuss they would both love it! They offer up head nudges like there's no tomorrow. Thank you for the welcome.

    Reaction to tramadol

Hi Cinqchats, Yes the dose was certainly too high for him I would say. My concern is that although he is much better, he still isn't back to usual self. It's not like him to meow, it's strange. You would think the drug would be out of his system now, I guessed at least within 8 hours. It makes...

    Hello

Hi, Just wanting to introduce ourselves as I'm new to the forum. I have two beautiful ginger Tom cats who just love to cuddle. We adopted them 3 years ago now from cats protection and fell for them instantly. Tyger is all ginger with a little white patch on his chest, he loves to be getting...
