My sweet Waddles passed over the rainbow bridge today. He was a rescue kitten that my parents found in their barn. Initially he stayed outside, he was feral and scared but came around. Yesterday he came inside. Today after a really rough vet appointment, he started to fade. Our sweet boy held on...
He's able to take 2mls of kmr every hour or so, and goes through phases. He'll be limp for awhile then perk up. I'll try honey and water on his gums. I almost think the stress of the day was too much for him. But I'm doing my best.
We can't get goat's milk, just kmr. He's not awake, is it ok to force-feed him like that? I figure it's probably not good since he won't really wake up. Mom's given him a bit of honey a few times and he wakes up theb goes back to sleep
As an added note. He's been sleeping most of the time. He's really not waking up, but his breathing and heart rate have been good. Our vet isn't sure what to do.
*Update!*
We had to get creative with Hazel. We tried the typical way of introduction and reintroduction but nothing worked. We found she's only aggressive at night, so took to keeping her in her own room at night. Slowly we let her out for a few minutes then as she behaved we let her go until...
Hey everyone, I have a kitten who's about a week away from 2 months old. One of the semi-feral barn cats on my parents farm had a litter and we didn't find them until a week or so ago. (Mom's getting spayed asap).
One kitten, Waddles, has issues with his legs, and to make a long story short...
I think we have a thunderease diffuser. My husband bought it so I'm not 100% sure on that but I know we use Nature's Miracle calming spray.
I'll have to try the calming treats, and see if they help. I think we're going to keep her separate for a few days anyway, just so that the others get...
We have a calming diffuser (one of the cat ones from the pet store) and a calming spray but it doesn't seem.to have any effect on Hazel. ShesS 13 or 14, we're not 100% sure.
I'd like to take her to the vet but it has to wait until payday next week, this week is rent and I can't swing both in a...
Hey everyone, I've posted here a rew times about our old cat Hazel. She's currently separated from the other cats, again.
I've tried reintroducing them and everyone will be fine through the door, then with limited contact, and then we let her out and everything is good for a few days. Maybe a...
It's been almost a week now since we said goodbye to our tiny little Sable. She was born to a semi-feral outdoor cat, and had a rough life. We aren't sure what happened, but she only had half of a back leg, and an obvious injury when we found her. Unfortunately, we didn't find her in time. She...
Took baby to the vet this morning. She has an infection in 2 legs and her stump. We're lucky we found her when we did, as the mother abandoned her sometime in the night, she was very, very cold this morning.
The vet gave us more antiseptic wash, and we're to to give her a bath daily to wash...
Hey everyone, on my stepfather's farm we have a small kitten who had an accident around birth and has 3 legs & a stump. My vet gave us an antiseptic (I assume) wash for the kitten's bad leg, however the other leg which previously had no visible damage is starting to swell around one of the...
How tight should the collars be? Loose enough to get a finger under or is that too tight?
I've never owned pets who have worn collars before, sorry for all the questions
Hey there! I'd like to teach my adult cats to wear collsrsbut I'm not sure how to do it? They all get upset when I put the collar on, and I wonder if a harness would be better?
Can cats wear harnesses like collars? I want to get tags and such for my three, but if they won't wear a collar...
We had a productive vet visit today! Hazel was well behaved, and the vet told us that she most likely had a stomach ache (just because of the size of the hairball) she also has an old poorly healed broken rib from her years outside, and the vet said her arthritis may have settled there as well...
My nephew is a 12 year old, so maybe the excitement was too much?
Hazel did cough up the largest hairball I've ever seen today, and has been really good with the other 2 since. She's going to the vet tomorrow for unrelated reasons but illI bring it up to see if it's got something to do with her...
