The sock actually worked! I was super surprised. It doesn't stay covering the wound fully, but it's just enough to the point where when he tried to scratch it his claws instead get caught up on the fuzzy sock material. It's helping with a few of the smaller scabs he had under his chin too that...
I didn't know they made softer material 'doughnuts' or cones for pets. I've only seen the plastic ones. I'll have to look into maybe trying to get one of those.
I looked at it today and it looks like it's starting to scab up again, so I think I'm going to try cutting a sock to make a makeshift...
My one cat has an allergy to fleas. I've treated all of my cats and the fleas are gone, but he still has some scabbing areas. None of them are too bad and I've been putting Neosporin on them to help them heal up better.
He has this one though right below his ear that he keeps digging at. Every...
Thank you to everyone for your kind words. Just making this post and typing about him helped me feel somewhat better. I know my brother was grieving in his own way and we all handle loss differently. It's just hard still I guess. I've never expressed or acted on my frustrations with him of...
One of our family cats that lived with my mom, lovingly nicknamed Tears or Tearsy, left us last month. It's been hard and I'm only now able to look at his pictures without sobbing uncontrollably. We got our sweet boy when he was only maybe six months old or so. After my younger brother's kitten...
I had some personal things crop up so couldn't post. The vet had something come up and had to reschedule her appointment. Just got home from that. She didn't get to look at her teeth but said she sounds really congested. I told her about the black crust and such but go figure for her vet visit...
I looked up feline acne and the pictures just aren't at all what it was like. It wasn't super crusty or in patches like skin irritation would be. It was like maybe dried drool? That's the most I can come up with. Next time it happens I'll have to try and get a picture of it. It was more sticky...
I think my one cat may be having some dental issues, so I have a vet appointment scheduled for her next week. She licks her lips a lot sometimes and I noticed recently she' been having like this black crusty stuff around her lower lips. I'm not sure how you would really describe it or what to...
So I don't have much news honestly as I've been so busy. But I also hate bothering people and I didn't want to be annoying so I haven't directly messaged or asked about how the brothers were doing. I've been stalking their Facebook page though to see if they've gotten adopted, and stumbled upon...
Last update for the kittens and momma. It's been awhile since I last posted, sorry for anyone still curious. Figured it was best to post the final update and the end of the story they'll share with me.
They're around 7 weeks old now and have gotten so big! Both are loosing their soft kitten...
Bonus video. :)
Sorry for my phones quality, it's a StraightTalk phone, one of the cheaper ones and pretty old. lol
Ignore my messy floor, I just took it as soon as I came home from work so I hadn't swept up their litter pan mess yet. They were too cute not to film though.
Sorry it's been a busy last few weeks. The kittens are doing well, and so is momma. They're URIs are gone completely and they're eating well. After a week of TLC of me solely feeding him KMR, he's started eating off of momma Cinnamon. I'm still feeding them KMR when they get fussy, but not so...
Ok. I wasn't sure or not if you could overfeed and cause tummy issues. I try to feed about every 2 - 3 hours or if I hear them get super fussy and vocal. Jasper is feeding off of mom still easily so he doesn't want as much, but Gabriel is taking like 6 - 8 ml each feeding or so.
I'm so glad...
I could try and see what they say. It's not on her paw but on the shoulder. The vet has me giving her antibiotics already, so I'm not sure.
It looks a lot better this morning. There isn't any pus now and the area looks pretty clean, no matting or even discharge around it. Instead of being super...
Named them after suggestions from some others. Momma Cat as I've been calling her is now Cinnamon. Little solid black cutie is Gabriel and the dilute tabby baby is Jasper. I'm hoping he stays 'dilute' when he ages, but he'll more then likely grow out with some color like his mom.
For Jasper's...
Got them in.. cost a lot more then I planned or had despite help but my grandma was sweet enough to cover the $75 that I was short on, despite telling her I could just not get the eye drops or powder. The antibiotics was the big cost. Yikes.
Gave momma a FVRCP vaccine and gave me medicine...
With the help of a lot of very precious, generous people on DeviantArt I have enough for the initial vet examination and the antibiotics if I can hopefully cover some of the difference. I've ordered the Terramycin Ointment online since I don't have a tractor supply store nearby. It should get...
Got a hold of vet, they can't prescribe anything without seeing them.. Just like I figured. And I asked them how much the examine would be alone and it'd be $60 just for the examine, not including any medication.. Ugh. I can't do that right now. So ordering it online is the way to go I suppose.
Momma only has two babies, so it's a very small litter.
My cat hasn't had her kittens yet, not too sure exactly how far a long she is, but she's rather big. She hasn't begun milk production yet, but has started scouting about for a area, so it could be anytime in the coming weeks.
I hope they...
Mom's diarrhea seems gone for the most part. Her stool is soft, but not liquid anymore. Mom seems to be doing better. Kittens feed from her, but they cry a lot, so I'm not sure they're getting enough food from her. So I'm going to start feeding them myself more often. I've had mom do most of the...
