My boy Hazumi was recently diagnosed w/kidney disease from bloodwork we did. He's 13 years old. The vet gave him a med called Semintra which I give to him every AM. They also suggested their special vet prescribed kidney diet, although that's not essential at this point.
I got a sample bag...
Hi folks! I joined this site recently and just found this forum. I have 3 cats, Hazumi (grey and white male, 18lbs), his sister (littermate) Yuki (black and white female, 8lbs) these 2 are 13 years old. Then there's Abita, brown female, about 7-8 years old. Yuki is the one in my ID picture.
My cat was vomiting a few months ago, what came up was just food and liquid. My vet did an x-ray of her body which showed a huge hairball stuck in her stomach. Basically she would eat but there was no room in her stomach so what she ate just came right back up. I had to give her fairly large...
Thanks for your replies, I finally convinced my husband that the cat needed to go to the vet. He looked healthy from the physical exam, although we did bloodwork anyway just to rule out anything else. Glad we did that as it showed that my boy does indeed have kidney disease, so we've started...
I'm posting this here as from reading other threads it's been suggested that this could be due to a medical issue. My boy has been pooping outside the litter box, generally about once a week, usually on a fleece throw on our new leather couch which is also his favorite daytime place to sleep...
My 3 all meow, trill and purr. My big guy however didn't meow until he was several months old and then it was the tiniest little meow which was comical coming from such a big cat (he was about 20 lbs then). He always had a really loud purr, and now that he's older he makes all kinds of sounds.
I recently went through something similar with my boy. He was throwing up daily, and was foamy yellow/greenish. He also lost weight as it seemed he couldn't keep anything down. We did bloodwork and the only thing that showed up was possibly a kidney infection. We did a week of antibiotics...
What gave me the idea that he was peeing to get attention was that it all began with him leaving poop gifts when we would go away on vacation. We'd come home and I'd find 1 or 2 poops on a carpet, no pee at all. While we were home he never peed or pooped outside the litterbox. Then that...

Hello! So here's my boy's history. He was born and grew up in the tack room of a large stable, so in his early days as far as I know he did not go outside. I brought him home at around 7 weeks and he was kept entirely indoors. Neutered as early as my vet recommended (probably around 8 weeks...
