Cat spraying indoors for first time

Thanks for the postings, everyone. I'm thinking he has a growing attachment to my wife as the pregnancy progresses. He was by her side all day today, and meowed like crazy when she went to shower and then left to run an errand. Interesting!

Cat spraying indoors for first time

Thanks for the info. I know dogs' senses are through the roof, but never figured a cat would also sense an owner's pregnancy. Your boss is a total jerk.

He is neutered. The upstairs neighbor has a cat, but they never come in contact and both cats have been in this apartment for almost two years.

Cat spraying indoors for first time

Thanks. Based on the info on that page, it was definitely spraying. His tail twitched rapidly as he backed up against the bookshelf to spray. He urinated his box today, like normal.

Cat spraying indoors for first time

Hi -- My wife and I own a very rambunctious and socially needy six-year-old male cat. We adopted him a couple of years ago as an adult cat. He's always been very tidy and has never sprayed, urinated, or pooped outside of his litter box. Overall no concerns of this kind, ever. However, this...

    Cat walking tips

Sounds like Pumpkin is similar to my cat. I think I'll have to bring an iPod or a book with me every time I walk him!

    Cat walking tips

How long do you guys walk your cat? My cat is extremely energetic and is bonkers to go outside. He cries for hours and hours to be let out, but we live in a big city and aren't too keen on letting him out. So we got a harness and leash and started walking him this week. I'll walk him for ten...

    Cat gate?

Yeah, when I said the living room doesn't have a door that can shut, I should've said it doesn't have a door at all. Unfortunately, we rent our home right now so we can't install a door either. I agree with you about the "gates" I've seen, but if anyone knows of a gate that is tall enough and...

    Cat gate?

Anyone have experience with a "cat gate"? We want to try one b/c our tabby is EXTREMELY HIGH ENERGY and he's been driving us crazy at night. We have a large living room with a window that he likes to perch on. Unfortunately the living room doesn't have a door that can shut, but my idea is to...

    Dry, cracked foot pad

Hi all... our 4-year-old cat recently had an infection on his back foot. Before we took him to the vet, the foot was very swollen, wet, and red, and it emitted pus and a bit of blood. The vet cleaned him up and gave us an antibiotic. It did the trick after a few days. It's been a couple of...

    New cat keeps us awake...

We gave him some wet food right before bed (he's absolutely insane over fish) and he conked out almost immediately, so thanks to the poster for suggesting that. I also played with him periodically from the time I got home to right before bed. He slept soundly on our bed from around 9.30pm to...

    New cat keeps us awake...

We do play with him before bed. I think we'll just have to dedicate a little more time to him though, because he seems to have an insatiable appetite for playing. Additionally, we just got him a couple of weeks ago, so he'll probably adjust at some point. We're just planning in advance in case...

    New cat keeps us awake...

OK, so we just got a new adult cat, aged 4. Coley is a great cat, but man, is he energetic. He runs up and down our hallway many times in a row, and he'll run right next to us, almost like a dog. For 30 minutes at a time he'll attack (but won't eat) the fake plant, thinking it's an animal. He...
