All you need is the Airport card. Once that is installed (which is very easy to do if you buy it separately), it will work with pretty much any router. No need for Apple's base station .

There may be something wrong with your default keyboard setting. I've noticed that in the past when using Windows XP, if you change the keyboard language, when you open a new window it reverts back to the previous language you are using. Anyways, I can confirm that this isn't caused by TCS...
