All you need is the Airport card. Once that is installed (which is very easy to do if you buy it separately), it will work with pretty much any router. No need for Apple's base station .
I have an iBook and Powermac G5 (and of course a PC) and I'm quite happy with both of my Macs. I'll probably be upgrading the iBook to a Powerbook later on in 2006.
An iBook is well worth it. Pretty much everything you need is included in the box, however you may want to consider another mouse...
Much faster. Processing power along has nearly been tripled. Not all endusers will notice it, but from the backend everything is running a lot smoother.
I do know that a few features of the board were not re enabled right away after the move. They *should* be all enabled now.

There may be something wrong with your default keyboard setting.
I've noticed that in the past when using Windows XP, if you change the keyboard language, when you open a new window it reverts back to the previous language you are using.
Anyways, I can confirm that this isn't caused by TCS...
