    What's wrong with my cat?

I’m so happy to hear that things went well at the vet and kitty was able to get her fluids and blood work done. I was thinking about you both today, wondering how your stressful adventure was going. I can understand how you’d be worried about the the bit of plant that she ate, but it’s good news...

    Is this ringworm???

I found this scabbed area in the back of my cat's head. Its about the size of my thumbnail. There is no wound on the skin. She doesn't scratch at the sore and it's s not painful. She's a 7 year old Maine Coon that lives indoor only with 3 other cats who all get along and are all on flea meds...

    What's wrong with my cat?

Do you have a garage that's cool enough that you can put your cat in overnight so that you can't hear her cry for food? Maybe you could ask your vet for a valium. My friend gives one to her cat each evening to sleep because he has dementia and howls and paces at night. She said it lets him sleep...

    What's wrong with my cat?

Okay, I understand things sound more complex. I assume you've had all the standard blood work - renal, thyroid, glucose, etc? Have you tried posting a question here on the site, like I did, describing your cat's symptoms and asking people for their suggestions? There are very experienced and...

    What's wrong with my cat?

I know exactly what you mean about the fasting. I knew that I couldn't endure 12 hours of her crying and nagging me, so I boarded her overnight at the vet. They very kindly didn't charge me for the brief stay and I was sooo relieved that I didn't have to watch her starve. I took her to the vet...

    What's wrong with my cat?

Hello, AGD! I've been treating Cali for EPI for the last few months and all her symptoms have resolved and she's back to her spunky, happy and energetic self. She's also gained back about two pounds, from the four that she lost. She is still on the slim side, which is fine. Initially, I...

    IBD vs EPI ???

Mrs GreenJeens, thank you so much for responding with your thoughts and suggestions. I started giving Cali the enzymes with every meal and she's tolerating it well. However, she is still eating eight times a day. She has gained maybe a pound since I started her on the enzymes, probiotics and B12...

Unexplained weight loss in senior cat

Only the standard T-4 test was done, not the free T-4. My friend will talk to her vet about testing for free T-4. The three enlarged lymph nodes, identified in the ultrasound, were only in the cat's intestines. Thank you for your helpful suggestion.

Unexplained weight loss in senior cat

My friend is going to talk to her vet about testing for free T-4. Any further diagnostics for cancer are not an option for her. Thank you for all that helpful information.

Unexplained weight loss in senior cat

My friend has a 12 year old Maine Coon that has been experiencing weight loss for the last eight months. Twelve to nine pounds. This is the only symptom the cat has. Stools, urine, behavior, eating, sleeping are all the same. Superchem blood panel were all normal. Stool sample and UA were...
