Too true - instead of moving the sleeping kitty I found myself perching on the edge of the chair until she decided she was done with that spot.

I was away from my desk chair for all of 2 minutes...

Sounds like the perfect two-pronged approach! I think preventative nose-wiping next time is going to be the key.

That's a fair point. I don't know anything about the dyeing process so if it involves something your cat hates, that's a good reason not to do it.

I recently switched to a different type of wet food with more gravy in it, and when I got up this morning I noticed that my cat's nose had been dyed the color of the food. The fur right above her nose pad is white, so it is pretty dramatic looking. I tried washing it off with a damp warm cloth...

Ehh...that seems like a bit of a stretch. Cats don't see color with the same vibrancy that we do so it's hard to know how the change would even register for them. I guess it's possible, but I think everyone saying how "traumatizing" it would be to dye your cat is anthropomorphizing a little bit...
