I Had To Forcibly Catch My Cat And Now She Hates Me

My cat is an inside cat but she likes to try to run out the front door. Because of this, whenever I'm doing something that requires the door to be opened and shut over and over again or left partially open or anything like that, I put her in a back room with the door closed out of an abundance...

    Studies showing vacuum effect occurring?

Yea, that is my thought. Obviously *something* is rendering catch and kill inert by the simple fact that decades of catch and kill hasn't succeeded in extirpating feral cats, but I have found any direct evidence that the "something" is the vacuum effect. It seems to be a sort of God of the...

    Studies showing vacuum effect occurring?

Does anybody know of any studies showing the vacuum effect occurring in cat colonies subjected to catch and kill policies? I've found plenty of studies showing that TNR reduces overall cat colony populations, but I can't find any of the vacuum effect occurring. What is the basis for the claims...

Completely rumpy (tailless) stray? Manx or no Manx?

She has actually developed tiger stripes all over as she's gotten older such as she has on her legs here. They were almost invisible when I first got her and are still fainter than the markings on her legs but they are definitely there.

Completely rumpy (tailless) stray? Manx or no Manx?

So I have recently gotten a completely tailless stray kitten.  She does not even have a stump but a divet where her tail should be.   I have been reading a lot about tailless and bobtailed cats just out of curiosity.  I have seen literally dozens of completely tailless cats randomly occurring as...

Advice for introducing new cat won't work for me

Okay, some followup.  At my wits end, I tried something I wouldn't normally do.  I put the new, smaller kitten in a crate and just brought her out to the living room so the other cat could see her.  She stopped wailing to be let out and after some initial hissing/spitting through the walls, they...

Advice for introducing new cat won't work for me

So I just got two cats.  I got them about 1 week apart.  The first is 3 months old and I got him from a breeder.  The other is 8 weeks old and I basically just got her from a woman who had kittens and wanted to get rid of them.  So the first cat had already settled in and adjusted nicely over...
