Do the warming thing, also you can try giving your cat a treat, and then drop the second one into the wet food. (add a little water to soften it). If he's just not willing to taste it, wipe some on his leg. He'll lick it clean and then he can't say he didn't try it. XD

For me the best long term solution was to change the cats' diet. Switched to raw, AMAZING results. Not only does the poop smell a LOT less, you can't really smell it unless you're close, but there is generally a LOT less in terms of volume too!!
