If you live in the GTA, the OSPCA have microchip clinic opening once a month. Check out their website.
I took Pico in today, only cost $20 compared to the $100 I was quoted at a normal vets. They're only open 4 hours but there was not many people. Just have to fill in some info forms, have...
I didn't suspect she was ill. O_o
Anyway, I took Pico to the microchip clinic today. They're a vet hospital and a shelter in one. The people there said that they feed their cats about 1/2 cup a day.
Pico is eating about 1/4 - 1/2 cup a day so even though she's eating less, it's still in the...
Unfortunately, I wasn't just referring to my thread, after reading most posts and seeing "go to the vet" about 100 times, it loses the effect and people are left to wonder when would it be an appropriate time to actually take your cat to the vet verses running to the vet everytime there's a...
I was/am experiencing the same thing with my cat, Pico. She's 7 years.
She was on a raw diet. Now the only thing she will really eat is dry food. @__@
Still trying to get her to up her intake but I monitor her to make sure she's eating. If not, I syringe it to her. She's not fully back to...
Do the warming thing, also you can try giving your cat a treat, and then drop the second one into the wet food. (add a little water to soften it).
If he's just not willing to taste it, wipe some on his leg. He'll lick it clean and then he can't say he didn't try it. XD
I'm going to play the devil's advocate and say it's your choice.
However, you need to understand the RISK you are taking and the risk you are putting kittens in with not spaying momma cat and breeding further. Do take what everyone said here and think long about it. They all bring up valid...
If they are all used to independent living, I would ensure that the ones that your aunt cares for are neutered/spayed. Then perhaps talk to other neighbours that might be able to keep their eye on the kitties.
As someone mentioned, adopt out the friendly ones, and let the others be. As long...
For me the best long term solution was to change the cats' diet. Switched to raw, AMAZING results. Not only does the poop smell a LOT less, you can't really smell it unless you're close, but there is generally a LOT less in terms of volume too!!
I've always wondered about those things.
So it's not like... a steady stream of treats flying out of the ball right? Lol one at a time and it's tricky? (I hope).
I just don't want to find random rotting treats in the corners of the house lol
How's your cat?
What did the vet say?
She's alright. I gave her dry for two days, gave her wet for the past two days, she's eating it. I actually took the wet food, wiped it on her fur and she licked it of and went to eat out of the bowl!!
I put some raw into her wet today, she's still...
I feed raw, so putting raw around an obstacle in the middle is still awkward. And I've tried that, it doesn't phase him, he's a fast cat.
Again the only thing that works so far is the raw bone-in meats where he has to take the time to tear and rip before chewing and swallowing.
Any ideas about...
I had taken him into the vet a while ago and asked the doctor about it. He just said the same thing you guys have said. Elevate and feed small potions throughout the day. Apparently its very common. O_O
I started transitioning them to raw beginning around October/November 09. So it's been a few months. They were slow.
The cat (the one vomiting is Harley the 1 year old) vomits anything. Dry, wet, raw. He really just eats too fast like he hasn't even been fed. Pico USED to vomit last year...
Nope, I don't use ground raw. I go straight to my butcher for the meats.
The only one that's vomiting is Harley. I don't think it's allergies because he used to vomit on dry food and wet food too. He just eats WAAAY too fast.
Seriously, 1 minute the entire dish has been licked clean if I...
