Aggression - no response from other cat?

Thanks for your reply - it certainly sounds like a similar kind of situation. I think you're probably right that it's a combination of Nicky asserting herself as alpha cat/ redirected aggression / territorial. Could have got worse in the past few months as Toby is bigger now and no longer a...

Aggression - no response from other cat?

We do get the odd fight - but I think it is a play fight in Toby's eyes - although Nicky's ears are back and she growls.

Aggression - no response from other cat?

Hi, My husband and I have two cats - Nicky (c.2 y.o.) and Toby (c.1 y.o.) - who are mother and son (although they were separated so don't know it). They were introduced in a controlled, slow manner, as advised in cat books. They are both neutered, have no medical conditions that can be found...

    Young cat weeing in bedroom

Ok. Thanks for this. We keep finding new places where he has pee-ed - but always on my stuff!

    Young cat weeing in bedroom

Thank you for this. Is it significant that he wees on my things, and not my husband's stuff? He even wees on my side of the bedroom. Yes, we have caught him in the act a couple of times and have in each case guided him to the litter tray. He is soiling rather than spraying.

    Young cat weeing in bedroom

Thanks for this. He seems to use the box at all times, whether or not the door is open/closed - so we have little clue what is going on. He also pees on my stuff even when it is not in the bedroom.

    Young cat weeing in bedroom

Hi, Our kitten Toby (7 months old, but been with us 3 months) uses all the litter trays in our house for both pee and poo, but he has also developed a habit of weeing in our bedroom, especially on my stuff. He has wee-ed on my shoes under the bed, on a spare duvet, on my hot water bottle, and...

    Sudden Aggression

Thanks for this. Yes, they are both spayed/neutered - no worries there! We came to that conclusion, but it would be a pity if they could not share - might it perhaps be a good idea to let them into the garden at different times? Thanks again.

    Sudden Aggression

Hi all, My two cats generally get on very well - they groom each other, play together, sleep next to each other etc.  Nicky is about 1 and we've had her since the beginning of July. Toby is 5 months and we've had him for about a month. They are mother and son. They were introduced in the...

Needy new kitten and resident cat

@ShadowsRescue Thanks so much for the pointers - it was really reassuring to read your list as we really were questioning having a second cat on Friday. You're right that we were probably moving too quickly. To answer your questions, both Nicky and Toby are neutered, so no problems there. We...

Needy new kitten and resident cat

Back in July my partner and I adopted a one and a half year old female cat, Nicky. She is our first cat and was very easy to settle in; no behavioral problems and very laid back and all round an absolutely lovely personality! We adopted Nicky from a shelter. She was there with three kittens, all...
