I think it's still guesswork going by the mother cats' size.  Mine is slightly overweight at a mere 7lb.  My son and his wife have two of her year old tom-kittens, one ginger, one tux, and they are 12lb and 9lb respectively, and not overweight.  At 17 weeks, they were about 6lb each.

It's our turn for  the OP on Thursday.  The vet said he'd put an 'Elizabethan' collar on the cat, so I've got visions of elaborate ruffles!  I expect it'll be a cone.  Keeping my fingers crossed all goes well.  Still got one baby at home, my peaches & cream extra fluffy Ferdy, 10 weeks old now.

Thanks EB and Stefan. I've had their mother since two weeks before the kittens arrived, so she's doing most of the rearing work - and I've become part of the kittens 'furniture' - the problem arises when we have visitors, and little OllieRoger disappears or goes off somewhere he thinks is out...
