    Finding Homes For Cats

I have been taking in strays and ferals for as long as I can remember. I have been able to find homes for several, but still have 8 babies at my house that need new homes. I will be keeping 9 cats and currently have 17 at my house. These babies pictured, plus one deaf cat whose adoption is...

    Taming Feral Kittens

The mother was actually adopted last week. She is such a sweetheart and the people that got her adore her. I will miss her though.

    Taming Feral Kittens

Hi again, I wanted to thank everyone for the tips given a few months back. I did put a lot of these into practice and these babies are doing so well. The black one (Loki) has found his home with my sister and her husband and four kids. He adores the children and takes turns sleeping in their...

    Taming Feral Kittens

I recently trapped two feral kittens and also took in their stray mother. I believe the mom was dumped on my street when she was pregnant. I have had the kittens for about a week and a half and am trying to tame them so I can find them new homes.I have 12 cats of my own so cannot keep them...

    Flea Allergy In Fiv+ Cat

Sadie is strictly an indoor cat, but the problem is that she will sometimes dart out the door. I do bring her in as soon as I can. She will run and hide in bushes and it sometimes takes a few minutes before I can get her back in. Just those few minutes outside can cause a lot of problems with...

    Flea Allergy In Fiv+ Cat

I think I am going to go with Comfortis, or the 3 month pill (I can't remember the name).

    Flea Allergy In Fiv+ Cat

My cat Sadie has a flea allergy and is also FIV+, making it difficult to heal her skin issues. All of my pets are on a monthly flea prevention, and Sadie uses a seresto flea collar to allow for removal as she needs frequent medicated baths. I have been back and forth to the vet for months with...

For all those that have said goodbye

I saw this video on Facebook earlier and wanted to share it here. It's a very beautiful, but heart wrenching poem. I imagine that these words are exactly what my sweet Rita would say to me, if she could.

    RIP my sweet Rita

I lost my sweet angel, Rita on December 22nd and I am finding it very hard to cope with her loss. This baby was my world. Rita was diagnosed with feline heartworm disease at the end of August when she was rushed to the vet in respiratory distress. She had been hospitalized five days and with...

    Heartworm in cats

Rita is showing signs of improvement. Vet says her prognosis has gone from poor to fair. If she continues to improve at this rate, I'm told i may be able to bring her home by the weekend. I miss my baby so much!

    Heartworm in cats

Rita has always seemed to be a very healthy cat. She did have a cough earlier this year, but my vet thought it was due to the clay based cat litter and suggested i switch to a non-clay based litter. That seemed to work. She would vomit periodically, which apparently is one of the symptoms of...
