High Calcium Level... Please don't let it be cancer

thanks so much. that really is helpful. the caller (which was actually a vet asst) said that their normal scale for calcium was 8.2-10.8, and as spivey is at 11, it's high. we are due for a re-check of calcium in 2 weeks. i'm hopeful that it may go down, although, like i said, nothing with...

High Calcium Level... Please don't let it be cancer

thanks for the vibes rang unfortunately, there's really nothing out of the ordinary going on with her as far as medication (no meds, no laxatives) or diet are concerned.... which is why i feel that her results will be the same in 2 weeks. she eats the same food every day, isn't munching on...

High Calcium Level... Please don't let it be cancer

we took spivey (9) to the vet this week because I had noticed that she's been drinking more water than usual over the last month or so. she had a full exam, doctor felt nothing unusual and she didn't seem dehydrated (skin snapped back well, eyes looks good). the vet just called back with her...

Do I dare venture into Fancy Feast territory?

MISSION FAILURE. she won't eat it. i bought a can of the chicken/liver pate, and also the grilled salmon 'flakes'. tried both, she just looks at the plate then walks away, doesn't even sniff it or taste it i even put a glop of it on her nose, thinking at least she'd have to lick it off...

    Red spot on ear

looks like a broken blood vessel to me, probably nothing serious. i would just keep an eye on it to be sure it improves.

Do I dare venture into Fancy Feast territory?

thanks sharky, that's what i kinda thought too. if she eats it at least it's SOMETHING. of course, i'm prepared for her to turn her nose up at it like she does everything else that isn't prepared for human consumption. maybe i'll just buy one can to start to the fancy feast feeders, which...

Do I dare venture into Fancy Feast territory?

our oldest (spivey), is 9. she is a dry-only eater, and has proven very resistant to all attempts to get her to eat canned food. i've tried many. she will eat 'real' meat, such as chicken, ground beef, ham (i know ), as a matter of fact, she LOVES meat. but on the canned food... nuh uh...

    Catnip question

my cats all eat loose catnip (both dried and fresh) after they're done rolling around in it. never had a problem, and it helps me with cleanup

    Greenies treats

lola tries to eat these. she gets one in her mouth, then lets it drop out and stares at it with a confused look i think the size and hardness is more than she can handle. she's a Temptations girl. marvin, on the other hand, loves the greenies (the oven roasted chicken flavor, anyway)...

    Soft Paws

ah, i see. so part of the cap that's showing doesn't even have any claw in it, it's just an empty tip? i should consider these further. my cats have a big homemade cat tree that they like to scratch routinely, but they sometimes have these crazy jags of furious couch-corner scratching when...
