I went to the little independent cat health store near my house today, and they gave me a bunch of free samples of things they think could help. They gave me pumpkin to mix in with his food, along with raw goat's milk, which is apparently the only milk they can tolerate (besides when nursing)...

Good thought on the probiotic. I think dairy reacts poorly with him, so I don't know about yogurt. Can I give him a probiotic supplement from a drug store? Do you know how much I would give? there's also a good cat specialty store near me, they may have some kind of cat specific probiotic...

Fyllis- thank you for the thoughtful response. I will keep the probiotics in mind. For the past week we've been feeding him a little less than three cups a day- around 20 ounces. Not sure if weight gain yet but I am making a followup appointment next week some time. I'll also ask about the...

For weight comparison, the top is the day I got him (excuse the litter box my boyfriend assumed I would be bringing home a kitten... Had to exchange it lol) and the bottom picture is him right now. I still think he looks ok, but will try to help him gain weight per the vet's suggestion.
