Thanks for your responses guys! This is the second time he's had issues but we are in a different province than the last time so obviously a different vet. The first time the put him onthe same we food and when he went back for another urinalisis his crystals had cleared up and his PH levels...

There's a few things that could be causing this. It could be a food allergy, stress, fleas or a number of other things. You could try putting him on a food which contains a fair amount of fish. The oils are good for skin and fur.

If that's a photo of him there, he is gorgeous! What breed is he? Did he only have the one run in with the crystals?

If you don't have a flea comb you can try having him stand on a piece of white paper and ruffling his coat. If there are black specs on the paper you'll know he's got fleas. This is caused by the flea debris. (waste, dried cat blood) Hope this helps little!

Also the vet approved his regular diet once his crystals clear up.
