My cats are about the same ages as Zoey and Killer, and I have had them both on adult food even though the younger one is technically still a kitten. For whatever reason she did not like the kitten food and would always go for the adult food when I put both out. When I posed the same question to...
That's a great tip about Walmart's Special Kitty. For whatever it's worth, I recently had to look hard at the cat budget, and I started tracking by spreadsheet some foods I had fed (Royal Canin and Hill's) alongside some other foods. Ferdinand and Isabel had gotten tired of the Royal Canin...
Hi, misterwhiskers! Congratulations on deciding to enhance Robin's quality of life by working on his food intake. I know from experience that this can be an emotional step -- we love our cats, and one way we show love is by feeding them. I second Columbine's suggestion to consult your vet on the...
I have an older cat (1 1/2 yr) and kitten (6 mo), and the older cat tends to be more subdued in group play (with a fishing rod-style toy) than he is when playing alone. I think it's fun for him to watch the kitten leap and lunge after the toy instead of plotting and planning. One thing they both...
Hi, fellow cat lovers. I also contacted Hill's and wanted to share what they said: "We are happy to hear that your cats enjoy their food. The two different size bags should not have an odor difference, so they should not be reluctant to want to eat the food from the larger bag."
They're also...
Hi, cat community - Does anyone have experience with both the 7-lb and 16-lb bags of Hills Science Diet Adult Optimal Care dry food?
I may switch to getting the larger bags, but I would like to make sure the plastic packaging is the same on both sizes. When my Ferdinand was on the kitten food...
Hi jsmith125 - It sounds like from your post you may be in Houston from time to time? I wanted to share this resource list from Friends 4 Life. It's a great starting point for no-kill shelters, low-cost vet services, emergency vet, etc. Good luck, and glad Lucifer is back to his regular self...
I have no experience with boarding so cannot speak to that. However, we had a pet sitter come by the house 2x a day to feed, play with our kitten when he was just 5 mo old. He did wonderfully. We did do a couple introduction sessions with her when we were still present to show him this person...
Hi, everyone. I wanted to report back that Isabel's swelling has gone down, and now I don't even notice it. Today is Day 4 after her spay appt. Thanks to everyone for the advice and help.
The fold is due to the swelling. She was lying flat on her side when I took this picture.
Isabel hasn't had any appetite or drowsiness issues. The swelling has been there since the initial day, and it doesn't seem to be worsening. I will take your advice and monitor for now.
Thanks for the...
Hi, Cat Site folks. This is a photo of my cat's incision on the 3rd day following her spay procedure. Do you think it looks like it is healing OK? There is no seepage from the incision, but to me the skin below the incision looks a little puffy.
