Thanks! I've read pretty much everything I can on FeLV, and there is an interesting post on that threat from someone who has a mixed household indicating transmission rates are low, but given that FeLV can go dormant after the initial infection period, it's pretty hard to actually tell if a cat...
Looks like a ringwormy sort of thing to me, but the kind of ringworm that affects usually fluoresces under black lights and testing is pretty much immediate because of that. Has he been put under a woods lamp? Are they actually "wounds" , or just places where the fur is coming away in clumps...
Hi everyone, was hoping owners with FeLV+ cats could perhaps offer some advice. Our four year old was recently diagnosed with this after running a fever for two weeks. He's currently doing a lot better, and though there's signs of bone marrow involvement, we're hoping it will go dormant. He is...
Thanks, unfortunately it looks like he has late stage FIV, where the FIV is so advanced the antibodies just aren't there anymore, so he tests clear on the basic tests, but not on the lab one. He's still clinically healthy, so that's a positive, all we can do now is try to keep his weight up.
Thanks for the reference thread, I had a look at it, so lovely to see the boy got a cure! I'm really hoping this is something we can do for ours too. Everything is going to be up in the air for another week or so though. :/
So our 12 year old FIV+ cat was losing weight. I took him to the vet to get his thyroid checked as he had received the radioactive thyroid treatment a while ago and I thought it might be the cause. Other than the weight loss, he's been doing well, he's a little less active, but his appetite is...
Thanks for the advice! I think you're right about her being a bossy female with the boys, the funny thing is, they are allowing her to do it, and I am pretty sure if a male tried what she's doing, he would be smacked down pretty quick. We are definitely intervening where possible and making sure...
Hey everyone,
I have a bit of a situation. I have a female cat who is about two years old now I think. She was a foster fail and came in at about 3 months old, badly malnourished and on death's door. It took her weeks to get the strength to run or start to jump or anything, and it took about...
Nine weeks old today :D Here she is with her mama. I'm so grateful for everyone's help, there was a time I really never thought she'd get to grow up. The advice and support here helped me so much in those early days :)
