So I tried to keep my original post short and sweet but I probably should have included a few more details! So hereit goes..
We asked him at the time whether he wanted us to book in advance as there was a good chance we would have to cancel and he said yes and that he was okay with us...
I have just taken one of my cats to the vet and am shocked to find out he weighs 6.4kg! (14.1lbs) I knew he was probably overweight but I'm surprised it was that much (though the 1 minute walk to the vets during which I thought my arm might fall off probably should have been a tip off...). The...
So, from the beginning...
We have a coir doormat by our front door which one our cats repeatedly pees on. He doesn't do this anywhere else and it's not everytime but he just won't stop doing it!!
I removed the mat about 3 weeks ago and while it was gone he didn't pee anywhere he wasn't meant...
One of ours, Marley, has a hyper-mobile tail - its full length but it curls over his back. It doesn't affect him at all but he does extend it out straight when he's balancing on something. Only thing I ever wonder about is whether it affects his communication with other cats?
(side note - I...
I've gotta admit, when I read your reply I was a bit baffled. I have known multiple cats in my lifetime (all indoor/outdoor as I'm UK) and never known one to die this young. My last cat died at 18, my boyfriends cat is currently 22. They were and always were indoor-outdoor cats. Again, like you...
What do you mean by roam free exactly? As in just letting them off the leash at the park, or actually having free access to the neighbourhood?
If its the latter, then no I would not. Letting a dog roam free is totally different to a cat in my opinion. I've never owned a dog so please correct...
I'm UK and all my cats have been indoor outdoor, I personally would not keep mine as soley indoor cats. It is a personal choice though and you do have to really take into consideration where you live (are you on/near a busy road etc).
As for their safety, I have personally never had any of my...
My cat Marley occasionally has little coughing fits. It doesn't happen very often, probably averages to about once a week, even less lately, and they don't last for very long, probably 30 seconds at most. I did ask my vet about it a while ago and they said it may be connected to his hayfever...
Yeah definitely. Marley is pretty unusual, he has an extremely hypermobile tail lies flat on his back and curls over his side. Orion has about 6 or 7 ginger spots on his white tummy. I like to think I'd be able to recognise them without those traits though! Plus, both are microchipped.
My vet suggested Hills hypo-allergenic food (I'm UK, not sure if Hill's is sold anywhere else), which is venison based, so I think I'm going to try that for now and then maybe slowly reintroduce food that I know he's always been okay with.
Yes he is neutered, we have just moved house though and...
He eats a mix of wet and dry, though brands tend to change a bit depending on where I'm shopping. He did have a new food which he'd never tried before about a month ago so it could be that? Thanks for all the info and the link, I'll have to do a bit of detective work then!
If anyone has any...
Hi, my cat Louis started getting sores on his head about 3 weeks ago. They started small and just looked like grazes and I just assumed he was getting into a few fights. Then he got one on his cheek which he wouldn't leave alone and it wasn't healing so I took him to the vets on the 18th. The...
