    Just a vent.... re: Wellness

Sorry, I didn't realize we were talking about kittens. They do also have Venison & Green Pea but I don't know about fat content. I buy for older cats

    Salmon, fish and seafood

I learned something new today! While I haven't changed my mind about feeding raw fish occasionally, there are definitely factors to be aware of. I hope they don't mind me copying their page for the sake of education but it does bear on this topic: From Little Big Cat...

    Just a vent.... re: Wellness

Have you tried Natural Balance? Good solid food. 100% natural, no by-products or preservatives. Slightly less expensive than Wellness but some variaties include grains. You'll have to be sure to check the labels. I keep it around in case I forget to thaw out their raw food or go on vacation.

    Salmon, fish and seafood

There's no problem feeding raw fish to cats. I wouldn't feed it exclusively though as this can cause a Thiamine (Vitamin B1) deficiency. It's like anything else when feeding raw food. It's all about the balance. Take liver for example, you wouldn't feed liver everyday or you'd end up with...

    Raw Eggs?

We just dealt with this question on another forum I'm on, so let me share with you the post I wrote there. It may help clarify some misinterpretations about eggs and cats:

Anyone sleep with their bedroom doors shut?

Well that's just the thing, he has been to the vet very recently for the ear infection I spoke of previously. He's on massive doses of antibiotics. He has brought the volume down by several decibels and is quiet sometimes during the night now. I just can't determine yet due to him being...

Anyone sleep with their bedroom doors shut?

Most of the time I do, used to all the time until Waco started YOWLING all day and all night. I don't know what his deal is. We are dealing with a bad ear infection but it shouldn't be painful anymore. He yowls to go out, yowls to come in, yowls to get fed, walks around the house yowling just...

    Semi-Feral VS. Over Weight Siamese

Separate them and expose them to each other very gradually. Even just them sniffing each other under the door will enable them to get used to each others scent. I did this over a period of weeks with my last new kitty and while its ineviditable that some fur will fly at first, in my...

Cat won't go outside on his own

My little Yota (9 yrs) is an indoor kitty by choice. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old after her momma stopped feeding her. She can go out if she wants to but seldom does. When she does, it's not for long. She's a timid girl at the best of times and will also freak if the door is closed...

Do you think cats are "social" animals.

You hit the nail on the head there! My Waco is a 10 year old siamese and is the undisputed RULER of the house. I had 4 cats at one time and he was always okay but never was really warm and fuzzy with them. Two of the original 4 have recently passed on and last September I rescued a beautiful...

Help me before I strangle him!!

I have a siamese that does this. He didn't used to. He has a deep inner ear infection that caused his ear drum to burst we are still fighting the infection so the vet is thinking that his is still in some discomfort and that's the reason he's still yowling. I've resorted to putting him in a...

    Natural Diet Information Resources

This "source" has been significantly edited not giving the whole picture of the study. I read this study on the Winn Feline Foundation website when Woody got sick with IBD. After re-reading it I still do not see where grinding meat (the study only dealt with rabbit) significantly reduces...

    food intolerances

Have you tried any of the limited ingredient diets from Natural Balance? They have a Duck and a Venison with Green Pea Flour. Neither type have any grains in them. I used the Venison with my IBD cat and it did a wonderful job of helping with his diarrhea. I bought it at Petco for about $30/24

    Natural Balance FIV and IBD

I have had quite a bit of experience with IBD/Cancer in cats. My Woody had it so I've done alot of research on the subject and have direct experience with it and I hate to be the bearer of bad news but IBD is incurable. It can quite successfully be managed but cured? No. Woody was a raw fed...
