CalicosRSpecial ... Thanks .. Small portions seem to have done the trick.
Also they are now more used to it. Making sure I give them the majority of their food in the wet form.
Ms. Freya,
Thanks for your comment. To be honest, still a bit worried ... he sleeps a ton. In contrast to his sister Cookie who is a ball of energy. Yep checkup/blood tests soon. New toy was definitely needed. Boredom can be sedating
A friend said that at 8 (their age, brother and...
Thanks missmimz ... We'll see what it could be. He's asleep as I speak up in my loft bed. He sleeps a lot more than his sister Cookie. I don't feed them more than 1/4 Cup/day. Vet yes.
Hi Willowy, Thanks for your reply. Agree. Going to try (ugh) Purina Complete for a week just to see if any connection in his low energy with Orijen. He and his sister ate that before when I thought he had more energy - possibly no connection. Wouldn't keep him on it anyway, just to see if...
OH BOY ... couldn't re-edit this.
But GOOD NEWS. A new rod and thingee toy has sparked Timmy's interest and energy. Had it here and forgot about it. It really got him moving.
Still taking him to vet for checkup/blood tests. I guess he's a "not gonna move unless I have to" type kitty...
Good NEWS!!! I think Timmy was mainly BORED.
I remembered a rod and gizmo toy a friend sent at Xmas. Hadn't used it. Took it out and put it together.
Voila, Timmy came alive.
I'm still going to take him for a checkup, but I think he was simply unmotivated to do much.
Not sure this is...
Hi,
Back again. While the barfing of Orijen now gone, by giving smaller portions, there's another problem.
Timmy hasn't been himself for awhile, very low energy which is atypical for him. Seems to coincide with starting them on Orijen. He used to race around like crazy, not now. His...
Timmy's become very lackluster. None of his usual racing around. I'm worried. It seemed to start after introducing Orijen dry. Cookie, on the other hand (his sister), has much more energy after being on Orijen. Could this be some reverse effect with Timmy? Hope it's not hypothyroid. I...
Hi CalicosRSpecial ..
YES so appreciate the comments and reassurance as I do want to keep feeding my guys Orijen.
I got a response from Orijen's Customer Care Dept. They "claim" all their research led to this stupidly small size morsel. Oh really? Anyway, will use it as it's so good and...
missmimz ... you make perfect sense. I think I will stick with the Orijen, just small portions at a time. Exactly what I'd see when they threw up the Orijen, whole pieces there.
It's better now as I'm only feeding them small quantities at a time. No more upchucks so far.
Thanks very much for...
Hi Zed,
Thanks for sharing. I feel reassured knowing that this is not uncommon. Yep I've been leaving out about 1-2 TBS at a time and no throwups. YES I keep hearing how great Orijen is for them, would hate to short change them.
Hi Cocobutterfly ... Wellness Core ... will check it out. I'm feeding them about 1 TBS of Orijen at a time. I'll check the ingredients on Wellness Core.
Thanks so much.
Hi missmimz,
Thank you too for your info, was feeling a tad panicky. They started eating Orijen about two months ago. No transition from the Purina Complete (maybe not good to do this).
Their main food is/will always be wet. No matter how good dry food can be, I think all cats, especially...
