    My Girlfriends Cat Hates Me

"Speeding it up faster" and "cats" don't really get along. Try completely ignoring them, and then maybe offering treats when they decide come out on their own, but without trying to let them or pick them up. Some cats just really really hate to be picked up.

    Sexual Behaviour After Neutering??

All part of the recovery process. My friend's cat is like 9 years old and has been without his Manly Bits since he was about 6 months old, but he still humps his favourite blanket...

    New Adopted Cat Still Skittish

It can take a loooooooong time for some cats to get comfortable in a new place. My Eleven took over a month (she was a semi-feral outdoor kitty before I took her in). She's still pretty skittish, but she makes a little bit of progress every day. It sounds like you're taking all the right steps...

    Help! New Cat Meowing Constantly

Like the others said, he is probably still getting used to his new environment. Cats HATE change, even if the change is an improvement for them. He's not totally sure yet about this new setup and he's talking about it. As he gets more comfortable, he probably won't meow as much. Good luck to...

Which Breeds Show Affection To Entire Family (not One-person Cats)?

I've heard from a few acquaintances that Turkish Angoras are like that, almost more like dogs than cats as far as how they are around people. My Harley is a total people-person. One of the reasons I never let her go outside--I'm pretty sure she'd go off with the first person she met. :/

Cat Defecating 50% Of The Time Outside Of The Litterbox - Behaviour?

My Harley had horrible tummy issues for ages before a vet finally figured out what was wrong. it is basically IBS, but I also found out she is allergic to chicken. I started buying only cat food without any chicken at all in the ingredients (BLOODY EXPENSIVE), and it was like magic. Now she only...

Anyone Else Have A Heavy Breather?

2 vets have said there is nothing wrong. Blood tests, x-rays, the works. She does have some tummy issues (the last vet said it's basically the cat version of IBS, but I forget the name) that give her diarrhea every now and then and she can't eat chicken, I suppose it could be tied into that? She...

Some Encouragement For Anyone Looking To Take In An Outdoor/feral Cat

Just a quick story to let y'all know it can be done, even if a lot of the experience feels like hell. I met Eleven last winter. Everyone in my apartment building was feeding her and providing water and shelter. After a few months of effort, it finally got to the point that Eleven would come...

Anyone Else Have A Heavy Breather?

I've had Harleyquinn for like 5 years, and from the get go I noticed she is more often than not breathing super fast, like she just ran a marathon. I brought her to the vet for it, and then later brought the subject up at every check up. Nothing wrong (thank goodness), but I still find it...

    Cat Has Favourite 'parent'..!

Your cats love you best because they see all the effort you put into making them happy and they want you to know it. It would be nice if men were the same.......

    Biting At My Heels

Not sure if it's been suggested before, but those Feliway air freshener things have helped with a lot of our kitty behaviour issues. We had a super cute petite tortie years ago (very creatively named "Tortie") who attacked EVERYONE. Especially ankles and legs. She left me and my one sister...

    Afraid Of Strangers

Cats are fussy eaters by nature. That can increase when they're stressed. As long as she's eating something every day, I wouldn't worry too much. If she doesn't go back to eating more within a week or, of if she stops eating altogether, then maybe time to consult a vet.

    Semi-feral Heeellpp

So after all that, it turns out Eleven really just wanted out of her room. I've been letting her out for as long as she wants, letting her go back to her room when she's had enough or is getting too nervous. It's never longer than five minutes, and she actually prefers to wander around with my...

Very Thin Scared Stray Cat ....

Sometimes it really sucks being an animal lover. :/ He can't stay in a bedroom forever, but a short stay might not be so bad. (I'm going on two weeks with a kitty in the bedroom, me sleeping on the couch with the other 2 cats.) Not sure if it's the same near you, but here there are a lot of...
