Hi!
Just now, my kitty was running around, freaked out about a poo that was hanging by one of my hairs... Unfortunately I was trying so hard to keep him from hiding that I pulled the poo off and didn't think: I know I should have cut it after the fact and now I'm really worried: what should I...
Anybody have experience with the Primal freeze dried pork? My cats love it, but I have to admit I have misgivings about raw pork. My one kitty has food allergies for chicken and other poultry... It's hard finding non-chicken and non-fish cat food
Thank you!
Unfortunately my apartment isn't a place where I can separate them easily... They've been together for two and a half years, but the one is much more energetic, and tends to bully when playing, and during feeding, I try to separate them for feeding. Hoping to buy my own place soon, so...
Hi! has anybody who has a kitty on fluoxetine, who then started having mild coordination problems? My boy is pretty nervous, and ended up with diarrhea from my other cat being a bully... Lots of vet trips and behavior modification later, the vet and I decided to try a low dose of fluoxetine...
To Mom of Maxwell: The pain reliever was because he was in major pain when trying to poo... I only gave it to him for like a day. I know it's intense stuff -- my dear departed old tortie girl had pancreatitis toward end of life and that's what I had to give her. Ultrasound is to make sure he...
Thanks everybody for the awesome suggestions. I'm less worried now
And I think he just made a small but almost-normal-looking poop. Fingers crossed it's a sign he's turned a corner
Thanks!
I'll just cut out the dry food and feed only raw/wet for about a week with probiotics and pumpkin.
The rabbit didn't cause problems - more like it didn't solve anything (and my cats weren't fans at all.)
I'll just ask my cat sitters to feed wet only I guess?
Or would another brand be good for later? Maybe evo?
Having dry to put out when I have to work a lot of hours and can't be home to feed wet twice daily is hugely helpful to me, but I don't want to hurt my cats' health for my own convenience...
Thanks for the suggestion! I've been feeding the primal as my freeze dried turkey raw... The dry I put out mainly as something to graze on when I'm at work. Maybe I should just stop the dry all together?
Glad to know the probiotics need a little more time. I wasn't able to find out how long it...
I feel I should add: he generally acts just fine. Like last night he was relaxed and tummy up on the living room rug. Is he just adjusting to the probiotic? It's a acidophilus and bifidus mix... Natural Factors. He's been on that for like 2-3 days... Tried Proviable for the first few days but...
Hi!
I have an approximately 3-year-old boy (standard rescue, not a specific breed)... he's had problems with soft stools off and on for most of his life. He's sort of a nervous boy. After many fecal tests (negative for parasites) and blood tests (also normal, thank god) the specialist said it's...
hmm. i'm just not sure if an e-collar is an option... she's pretty easily upset by things. (ie. when she had her anal glands expressed, the stress gave her a horrendous case of diarrhea that required vet intervention). yeah, she's a freak. but she's my freak.
hmmm. this situation is pretty...
it's definitely become habitual. kind of obsessive-compulsive. like it's some kind of self-comfort mechanism.
i've had the e-collar suggested... but i think that might send her over the edge. i try to stop her whenever i catch her licking, but that's only when i'm actually there to catch her...
I have a tortie who's almost 12 years old. About 2 years ago, the vet had to express her anal glands, which traumatized her terribly (she's always been pretty high-strung and antisocial, but it's getting worse as she ages). Ever since, she's had an escalating problem with licking her backside...
