Post pics of your babies that have passed so everyone can see their cute lil faces

We said goodbye to our cat Cricket this morning. She was 14. Cricket was diagnosed with bladder cancer last November. She made it 5 1/2 months on her blood pressure meds and some pain meds. We had a home euthanasia specialist come to the house this morning. She was able to lay in the bay...

Sudden blindness and neurological (?) problem in old cat

I haven't been on this site for a while, but I wanted to contribute to this thread since we have a similar situation with our 12 year old female, Cricket. Three weeks ago, Cricket didn't come to the kitchen for breakfast. This NEVER happens, she loves food.  She was in the basement and had some...

    Packing Up Poop

Thanks for the link. I will continue to use corn-based biobags however. I'd rather send those to the landfills than plastic grocery bags, which I can recycle at my local supermarket.

    Packing Up Poop

I use Biobag doggie poop bags. One large poop bag is big enough for a day or 2's worth of 2 cats' waste. I knot the end and toss it into a Diaper Genie that's lined with a kitchen size Biobag. That gets thrown in the regular trash ever week. I feel good that the waste is in biodegradable...

    Overgroomers Not-So Anonymoys

Oops, I just saw this thread this morning! I'll try to get some photos of Cricket's belly/arm for everyone. She's been on a bit of a tear this past week and her left underarm is pretty bare, along with the belly area. If the meds Ossi is taking seem to be helping, perhaps I'll try to get...

Obsessive self-grooming... can it be licked?

My DH and I pet her belly like it's any other part of her. She doesn't seem to protect it or act like it's uncomfortable if we happen to touch it. She is a bit jumpy in general, so we don't overly pet her in any location. Poor girl. Her fur is so thick everywhere else, if only she'd leave...

Obsessive self-grooming... can it be licked?

I also have a kitty who overgrooms her belly. We took her in after her previous owner died, and even in the vet records we were given, she was overgrooming. So we know it's not a recent thing, what with her owner dying, and moving to a new home in a new town, and having to live with another...

How Long to Assess Cat(s) Together?

I'd say things are progessing just fine. The new cat will calm down once it knows there's nothing to fear. I introduced a new female (Cricket) into our home that already had a resident female (Alpine) in mid June of this year. The first couple weeks were pretty stressful for both cats, lots...

    Hot pink ears

Something else to consider is an allergic reaction. Our cat had pinkish/reddish ears that didn't go away for a week. The vet couldn't come up with a reason--temp normal, hadn't changed diet, etc. We racked our brain to figure out what had changed in our home that could have caused irritation...

    Catnip, good or bad?

I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's hilarious!!!!!

    Cat getting into Christmas tree

This was my first Christmas with a kitty and a Christmas tree, so I was interested to see what would happen. So far, not a whole lot. When we first set the tree up, the cat did climb in the lower branches, but jumped down before I could get a photo. She did get interested in a chipmunk...

    Favorite Canned Food Recommendations

Even though Alpine eats a large variety of wet, the ones she consistently eats faster (or finishes the portion completely) are: Wellness chicken or turkey, Friskies pate in chicken/turkey/beef varieties, Merrick Grammy's Pot Pie and Turducken, and California Natural chicken and rice. There are...
