It is 9:30 AM. J is insisting she needs to eat macaroni and cheese right now.

So I guess we're heating some up. :dunno:

Edit: she said no to microwaving, so she's eating cold mac and cheese from the fridge. Apparently my 3 year old has turned into a college student.

Kwik Kwik -- So you think Holden is really neutered? Or should I get a second opinion? They want me to bring him for booster shots after only 4 weeks!!! Why not a year? I just can't afford to take him twice, but they are closed on Fridays, so can't get clarification if this is mandatory.

Lari Lari --OMG! I was craving Mac & Cheese at approximately 9:30am this morning too! And I don't want it microwaved either. I knew there was a reason you named her after me. 😁

They probably want it in 4 weeks because they think there is a chance he never had his baby shots...which is a booster in 4 weeks. However, since he's been neutered, he probably got them. I would do it just to be sure, but, they are so very easy to do yourself. Just pick up the fur around the neck so it also pulls the skin and jab it in there. Be sure to not grab the skin like your cuffing them.
I'm sure the vet can show you how to do it properly (mine showed me). I would contact her and see if she's willing to show you. This will save you time and money since you can buy the shots at any feed/pet store.
If she doesn't want to show you, find one who will.

Well let me ask you this-how old was Holden when you first met him?You reacued him from outside, right? It sounds like your Vet knows what she's looking for ,after a Tom is nuetered and stops producing testosterone the penile spine regresses,if he were a 10yr old cryptorchid it would be there..... so I believe you ard okay unless he has been with you for 10yrs

As K kashmir has mentioned your Vet gave Holden his initial ( first)vaccinations which require a second dose in 4wks---- after that it's yearly boosters ( and some are 3yr)

Is this his first time at the Vet?

Here in South Florida there are a few organizations that TNR & do not vaccinate( I know- crazy ,but they do not) so there's really no way of knowing- they don't always ear notch either although most do

My daughter loved cold peas and cold mixed veggies when she was a toddler. That wasn’t a battle I was going to fight!

DH got into the snacks I got for DS before DD could. Hes got a little cold. Nothing significant but his appetite is always low when he doesn’t feel 100%. Hes got enough energy to be jabbing me trying to snuggle, bouncing a water bottle off my shoulder and stacking small stuffed animals on my chest… So yeah…. :dizzy::rolleyes2: But he also didn’t want his little pizza yesterday. So maybe I can run out and replace his goodies he’s missed out on. It’s hard to say if its all from the bug or if hes just working through the emotions of losing Pumpkin yesterday. Could be both. It’s been almost a year since we’ve seen him in person; but the pictures seemed to help DS understand how bad off Pumpkin was.

Surprised at quickly rising prices. I inquired about Tire prices on December 22,2023. (4)225/60R18, Michelin CrossClimate 2, mounted & balance, including tax was $1,078.00 .
On February 5 2024, I made a appointment to have these tires installed. The price had now risen to $1,088.18 Today February 17,2024, the date to have the tires installed the total price had gone up again. Now $1,188.18. Heaven only knows what the tire price would been had I waited another month.

It's so hard to keep up these days- 5yrs ago I bought tye greatest Stones for the Mustang ( z rated performance tire) ,excellent in the rain which is important in Florida..... this year I had to pass on the Firestones and switched to Goodyears( not impressed and they were not inexpensive either).....prices just keep climbing & what really gets me is it the same tire sitting in the warehouse ,it's not just manufactured!

I had to put new tires on the Explorer two years ago, as the old ones were leaking right through the sidewalls. The ones I wanted were out of stock, with no definite date when they would be available. I needed the tires, so I got what I could get, and they ran almost $900 for four tires, mounted and balanced. The ones that I did want were, if I recall correctly, something like $250 each, before taxes. Yay.

I have to admit that these new tires seem pretty incredible and popular which I suppose is why the elevated price. But is there no limit to what can be charged? 20240217_161531.jpg

By the way, which Mustang do you have? When I got out of the service, back in '71, by way of a present to myself I bought a '68 Mustang GT fastback, candy apple red, 302 V8 with a four barrel carb, dual exhaust, manual transmission, and an EquiLock rear with 3.50 gears. That car ran like a scalded dog, and I hated to part with it, but leaded premium gas became difficult to find and expensive when you did find it. Oh well.

Nice! One of my nephews just got a new one last year. I don't recall the exact model, but it was pricey enough that Ford flew him and a bunch of other buyers down to N. Carolina to drive one on a NASCAR track. He had to wait quite a while between ordering and delivery. That thing has somewhere north of 500 horsepower.

We saw a very fancy new Corvette today. Orange and black. Every time I see a car like that I say "Look "DS"; a real life Hotwheels!' He's beginning to just shake his head and laugh at me. We haven't progressed to a full eyeroll. He might know better. ;)

We are still a few years out from having a 3rd driver in the house; but I am thinking often about when that day comes and hoping our Outback can become the car my kids are allowed to drive until they can afford their own. So far she isn't excited about the increased independence it can bring. But she wants a part time job; so I'm sure that will change. And hey she sees it as a responsibility so that's something. I do need to start looking at Driver's Ed options and requirements though. Homeschooling means she can't get it through the local school district as part of her classes as a Sophomore. Last I knew the local Y wasn't offering it anymore either. Yikes...
