Thank you for coming to the German Shepherd dog's rescue and saving her. Our last dog was a shepherd, they are extremely intelligent and loyal.
We also once had a German Shepherd, a dog that was dumped out in the country, probably because he was a runt. He, too, was loyal and intelligent, but it didn't prevent him from being stolen, almost 50 years ago now.Thank you for coming to the German Shepherd dog's rescue and saving her. Thank you Maria Bayote . I love them too, but they are a lot of work when you take care of them like we do! I’ve had horses my entire life and I cannot imagine living with out them.Oh! I love them! If I could I would also love to have horses!!
OMG, they are sooo adorable!!! I'd have to kiss them many times a day!!Yes, I am the proud pet parent of two Chihuahua mixes. They are very catlike dogs. I'm not a dog person, so it surprised me how much I loved Laurel, and that love spilled over into Chocolate, who needed a home and probably would have died if we hadn't taken her in.
They didn't fix the problem of no cat, though. Choccie grew up with cats and desperately needed one in her life. Laurel just likes them. I probably talk about my dogs too much on a cat forum, but we are a family and Willow treats them like littermates.

She is the healthiest and least traumatized of the bunch, even though she didn't get the greatest start in life. It's just harder to be a dog than it is to be a cat these days.
I wish I could have more pets but my landlord says that's an eviction notice. He's been kind to me and I know he hates evicting people.
If that would've happened in Ohio, she'd go to prison for at least a year. Sooo glad you have her.Yes we have a beautiful smart German Shepherd dog that my niece in-law was going to shootbecause she didn't have room for it
I wanted a horse so bad when I was growing up. I grew up on a farm and I couldn't understand why I couldn't have one. I am older and my dad was older when I was born so he remembered farming with horses when he was a child. He said that I wouldn't take care of it and he didn't want to. He also said that there was no such thing as a fence that a horse couldn't get out of. I begged for at least two years and never got a horse.Thank you Maria Bayote . I love them too, but they are a lot of work when you take care of them like we do! I’ve had horses my entire life and I cannot imagine living with out them.
I have no doubt that his dad appreciates how well the two of you have been taking care of BOTH of his girls. We have The Beast (aka Jackie), Rick's father's beagle. When his dad passed away and his mom went into assisted living, nobody would take The Beast. Rick and I didn't want to spend the rest of her life in a shelter and, probably, in a cage, so we took her. She's going on five years with us now and it's been....interesting, to say the least. She suffers from bad anxiety (from being severely abused as a puppy, NOT by Rick's parents). She was always Jackie to everybody; when she came to live with us, I started calling her The Beast. She is now pretty much deaf and I'm trying to teach her to pay attention to some hand signs.
We deal.
Theft is such a horrible thing particularly if it is a beloved pet, so sorry that happened. I too have been afraid of just such a theft ever since we got this beautiful dog.We also once had a German Shepherd, a dog that was dumped out in the country, probably because he was a runt. He, too, was loyal and intelligent, but it didn't prevent him from being stolen, almost 50 years ago now.
I had no idea racoons hibernate. Are we counting wildlife that comes to be fed? In that case I have two crows and a raccoon named Herman. Currently hibernating.
American raccoons don't. But she lives in Japan so I assume she means a raccoon dog (tanuki), and they do hibernate.I had no idea racoons hibernate.
How cute. It looks just like a raccoon!a raccoon dog (tanuki)
