I've posted before about 'my' squirrels. A LONG time ago, I put out two bird feeders and have attracted tons of different birds throughout the years. After the first year or so, I also attracted some squirrels on those bird feeders, so I put out some squirrel feeders as well.
All good for another couple of years, until the squirrels went for both their own feeders and the birds' feeders. So, after numerous purchases, I finally found squirrel proof contraptions for the bird feeders. It has been good since, except for ONE squirrel who can get past the proofing contraption and comes around a couple of times a week to feast on the birds' food. Well, OK - just going to let her do it...
But, in that time I have also stored squirrel/bird food in a Styrofoam cooler in my garage. That worked well for a long time, until it didn't. The squirrels chewed through the Styrofoam!! So, I moved on to a heavy duty plastic cooler that I was no longer using. And, that has worked great for years - until:
Wonder how long it will take them to chew through this?? When they do, I am going to a metal box and let them wear down their poor little teeth trying to get to the stash. (I am kidding, but do hope the metal will stop them!!!)
