I've always been an avid reader and would definitely not be opposed to being in a book club, but I read almost exclusively sci-fi/fantasy. Not really sure that would fit in well.Hey Guys,

I read that one a couple years ago.Another book is "The Orphan Train" set during the depression. Did not know this even existed, during that time period.
I think we should try to read from all different genres, and both fiction and non-fiction. So some books may not appeal to everyone, which is fine. I'd be game to read something sci-fi/fantasy. So feel free to list some recommendations.I've always been an avid reader and would definitely not be opposed to being in a book club, but I read almost exclusively sci-fi/fantasy. That's basically it. I've tried mystery, suspense, horror.....none of it grabs me like sci-fi and fantasy do. I used to like historical fiction when I was a kid, especially WW2, but as I got older it sorta lost it's appeal. Mostly because a lot of it was so inaccurate in depictions of historical events.I read that one a couple years ago.

After sci-fi/fantasy, what other types of books would you read?
I agree. I read a lot of different stuff - from teen fiction to New York best sellers. No worries, I'm sure we'll read something sci-fi eventually. That's basically it. I've tried mystery, suspense, horror.....none of it grabs me like sci-fi and fantasy do. I'm game to read almost anything. I won't, however, read (or will stop reading) a book where animals or children are harmed, or other disturbing themes. But fantasy, romance, historical, YA, non-fiction, even sci-fi, I'm willing to give a shot, if my library has the e-book.I agree.
