It could but I don't have a car at the moment as the brakes gave out and it's a 2 mile walk to a store. And the garage is concrete so there's nothing to anchor that onto as she won't allowing building hammering drilling etc

I'm going to go back behind the garage and finish cutting down the dead bush after lunch. I'll take photos and post here what the garage looks like.
Yes, I do see. It sounds like a very unhealthy place for you to stay, and I hope you are able to find someplace where you can breathe and be yourself.
What I meant was you could probably order the shower curtain from Whole Foods with your next cat food order. Then you can use rope to tie it to the cat tree just to cover it from rain. Or if that doesn’t work large rocks to weigh it down. Not perfect but hopefully it will protect it somewhat short term.

This is what I have to work with. And since a lot of times or starts raining middle of night I can’t run out to cover. Also Mom wants food bowl on side of garage she can see to be sure I really am taking the food away from the house. Again the garage is hers so can’t drill holes

Thanks. She made me bring my stuff inside too. So sadly that doesn’t work. And she says no yard sales for anything as she’s trying to get rid of stuff (her own)

You know in spite of everything that happened yesterday and today and even with the toys put away Shaman and Treasure still follow me around and Treasure wants her hugs so maybe they understand in their own way that I’m under stress and need comforting. They seem to be really watching me today. Not out of confusion like yesterday but hanging close like the cat who will lay by you in bed when you're not feeling well. If that makes sense.
Yes it does, The cats will be fine.
Just take it one day at a time, were coming upon Summer if it rains they will come around when it stops, you have awhile before winter and that is plenty of time to figure out a plan of action.
Don't feel guilty about your Mom paying for your car repair, you drive her around, be bold with her, stand up to her!
you know when I was going through stress, I had to have a few sessions of therapy It really helps! It sounds like you could use someone to bounce your Mom off of to get a healthy perspective of what you should do.

Well Shaman and Treasure are here, but Shadow isn't. And it's Friday so that means errands with Mom. Since I have no car it's food delivery for the cats again. Anyway I'll mention more of the car in my other thread in the lounge. I once again posted to see if anyone would want to take Shadow in and work with her as she really needs to be an only cat. I can't play referee to these cats and their fights the rest of their lives. And it's obvious not one of these cats that come here likes Shadow and Shadow deserves to be happy too. Shaman and Treasure have adopted me pretty much and where I go they will go.
I just put the bowls out there to eat. If Shadow misses a meal I'm sure she'll be ok til lunch when I get back. Maybe taking down the toys is good for now. Gives me more space to spread out their bowls. I have an empty bowl by the garage that Mom won't be able to tell whether food is in it or not.
I need to get that Di something earth though to sprinkle around the bowls to keep the ants and roaches away.

Well it looks like I won't have a car for awhile. Which is fine because I barely drive anyway but it does put a hamper on me looking for a place to move to as most people have to go and inspect a unit/apartment. I was told my car is just so old everything is rusting and it would cost more to fix then buy a new one. Mom is throwing fits as Mom always does but she is starting to realize that realistically she won't be able to drive her car much longer. She's making the decision to give up her license in the next year as I did overhear her in conversation about it. So that parts in the air.
Gosh I wish I had access to a car though. It would make it easier to look for an apartment, assisted living or whatever that way. And the cat food. I'm stuck with the expensive Prime Now deliveries on Fridays when we're gone as a result. Otherwise I could just run down to Dollar General and pick up the food. Of course Mom won't go with me doing Chewy.com deliveries because of the fit she threw the other day. She doesn't mind me feeding them but she doesn't want all these deliveries.
I never did get my timed feeder. I won't have the money for that til the 15th. It won't be the one I wanted but it will do until I can afford the new one. I'm still working my rear off with surveys to get this.
Oh and I've been asking around and no one wants Shadow because she's a black cat. Yes people still have superstitions about black cats. That's a shame. I think in a proper home, with no other cats, Shadow could be a sweet and loving cat and companion. She just always looks so dejected because of her once being the alpha. And I'm not going to just give her to anyone, but rather to someone I know I can trust. Noobs and Wichapi will have to remain outdoors. They stir the pot with the cats causing fights and I'm thinking that may be one of my Mom's objections to the cats are the constant fights. I can't be taking 5 cats into an apartment with me or I'd be classified a hoarder and it is much different than this house with a 1/4 acre backyard. The fighting between Treasure and Shadow are several times a day with the growling hissing and yowling (halloween stance and yowl) and they most likely would continue if I took the 3 of them with me to an apartment. That's a good way to not get evicted ( lol ) and I can not and will not play referee the rest of their lives. Noobs and Wichapi are the same with the others. And that's sad as Noobs and Wichapi appear to be siblings of Shaman and Treasure. But at the moment all 5 of them depend upon me and part of that responsibility is see if the ones I can't take with me can be taken care of properly whether with a human or provided by a neighbor who will be happy to pick up feeding the remainder of the colony after I move. But one thing is for sure, Shaman and Treasure will be going with me where I go and when I go. I'm not separating those two at all as they have that very special closeness and bond.
Oh and one of the mods in private suggested I ask how one can go about registering Treasure as an emotional support cat. It seems logical to have her as she's the first one to have been successfully re domesticated, as I was told that even if pets aren't allowed if one is registered as emotional support then they have to allow her in.

you can always go and feed the cats that get left behind!

Well Shadow hasn't shown up all day. Neither has Noobs or Wichapi. I don't know if it's because they're out roaming around if someone saw my post on Next Door app and took over with those 3 or if it's because Shaman and Treasure run off everyone (including humans) from the property. I'm hoping it's because someone decided to take over with those 3. It may be a bit easier for Mom to accept and get off my back til I can get us both our own places if she sees just 2 cats and not 5 with most of them fighting every 2 or 3 hours

Hey, someone on Next Door found a dog house/catio that may work. And I can use the banister to anchor a mini awning to for the cat tree on the side. She's willing to come and put it up for me while Mom and I are gone next week and it's only $15.

They were lying under my porch all day so they didn't eat elsewhere. However they have ate since I asked above question.
So I sit outside for a bit with Shaman and Treasure who decide to take an after dinner nap. I have my back to the food bowl playing a game on my iphone. All of a sudden I heard a crunching behind me and there's Shadow. Shadow ate and knowing that she would be jumped walked right up to Shaman and Treasure wanting to play. Now there's a cat fight. Thankfully the A/C is running and Mom has the TV on or I'm sure she'd be yelling at me to do something about the fight.
