Grilled chicken breasts with twice-baked russets. Green beans.
I was checking my freezer list and realized that I had some BBQed chicken in the meat freezer. Went downstairs and took out a container to defrost. That's what we had for dinner tonight, with the potatoes and the beans. (Early dinner, since we're going in to see Rick's mom)

I made chili in the crockpot with ground turkey and extra veggies. It came out thick and chunky and spicy, SO good. It's mostly for him so I will have a tiny cup of chili with a bag of SteamFresh potatoes and green beans.

Do you like Hello Fresh? I've seen that one and I've seen Blue Apron. My sister gets three meals a week from Blue Apron and they really like using the service. She doesn't cook; my BIL does the cooking. He says everything is so fresh and is packaged well.

I've wondered about some of the meal delivery services.  They sound pretty cool.  I know people who don't like to shop love them, but I don't mind shopping.  My housemate thinks I'm a freak of nature because I love the grocer's more than a shoe store!

The plan for tonight was strip steak with a baked potato and lots of sour cream, accompanied by a salad, but we are going to meet a dog we plan to adopt at 5, and may be a little preoccupied.  Perhaps a pizza...Screamin' Sicilian and Urban Pie (especially Urban Pie) make frozen ones that rival what you get in a restaurant.

Nice, Lily Paddy!
When you get your others, please give us a review of them as well. I'm really curious. Thanks! My sister doesn't like to food shop, nor does she like cooking, so a service like that works well for her. (I was actually thinking of buying a 3-meal week for her and my BIL last year as a Christmas gift.)

JazzyP, I'm a big grocery store fan, too! When a new supermarket opens in the area, I always go to check it out and I can spend several hours just looking at everything. I was visiting a friend in NY several years ago when a new supermarket had just opened. I forget how many hours she and I spent there. I love Trader Joe's, too, and can spend quite a while there. Unfortunately our closest TJ's is about 60 miles away.

Grocery store or shoe store? I'll take the grocery store any day!

Made myself a huge chef salad, kind of.... romaine, cukes, tomatoes, celery, kalamata olives, cheese, hard boiled egg, croutons, EVOO and Balsamic Vinegar for dressing.. It was really good....

I really like my salads.. the cheese and the balsamic vinegar, EVOO and croutons are paramount to it...

My nephew gave me a gift card for the Olive Garden. I stopped today and got some Egg plant Parmesan. It's so good. They give you enough for two meals.

Hope you feel better by the weekend and the scrambled eggs give you an appetite.

I had Moroccan stew for the first time in my life.  Very tasty but also very spicy.

Feel better soon!

I have turkey kielbasa that I don't know what to do with. Maybe slice it, saute, add some chunked potatoes and see where it goes from there. Or add fresh broccoli, some tomatoes, and farfalle....and see where it goes from there!

Left over chicken salad sammiches.  That's what I had last night, as well, and I want to use it up.  LOL...I did the Southern Girl's Last Resort when I realized that I hadn't pulled anything out to thaw.  I put a big pot of seasoned water on to boil and dumped a package of frozen chicken breasts in it, brought it back to a simmer, and went to watch tv for an hour.  By then, the breasts were thawed and cooked, and chicken salad became the item of the day!
