I just noticed my cat Rosie licking her butt area more than usual.  On inspection I notice she has what looks like a second butt hole.  Sometime the opening is round and sometime it looks more like a slit.  There might be something white inside.  Almost like something has burrowed inside or something is trying to get out.  She will be 3 years old in April and she is strictly an inside cat.  She has never been outdoors.  I have an appointment with a vet for tomorrow morning.  We have two other cats and I'm a little concerned that it's something that could be passed around.  They look fine right now.  We have never had cats before and are pretty new to it.  Has anyone heard of anything like this?  Can anyone put my mind at ease.

Can she have picked up a tick from somewhere.  Have you taken her to the vet.  That would be my first move.

It sounds like an abcessed cat bite. Or, really, any puncture wound can get like that but bites are the most common cause. So, yeah, she'll probably need antibiotics or at least a good flushing of the wound, so a vet visit is needed.

I agree, sounds like an abscess to me too, it needs to be flushes and a round of antibiotics. The easiest way to give is get a liquid and put in a small amt of tuna juice. The can can be refrigerated to get several servings out of it. Good luck and post back when you find out what it is.

I forgot---if it's around the butt area it could be an abcessed anal gland. One of my cats had that once, eww. Anyway, yep, vet visit for sure.
