good morning, and Happy Holidays!!!
it's been a very busy week for us. we've had contractors doing home improvements, which has been stressful for both the cats and myself -- but a necessary and really good thing. i *think* we'll have only one more day of work to get done, and that will be once the glass blocks for the basement windows have come in -- they had to be ordered.
i did manage to bake the cake that i'd mentioned here and there, in various threads here at TCS.
so with these thoughts on my mind, for today's Question of the Day......
Are you having a dessert today? and... If so, what kind of dessert?
i'll start!
i'll be having a slice of the 3-layer carob cake with carob cream cheese buttercream!
this was the first time i've baked a layer cake from scratch, i usually prefer to bake bundt cakes or use a 9x13 pan for them. also the first time i've made a frosting from scratch -- i usually don't frost my cakes, but sometimes sprinkle powdered sugar over the tops of them. i got 13 slices out of the cake, a 'baker's dozen' -- including the crumbs, which were enough for one serving. i really enjoyed making this cake!
okay, now it's your turn!
