Hello all. This is my first post. It has been a very rough 48 hours for my little family. In 2004 I went to a local pet store and bought the most adorable kittens. I only had planned on getting one, but they were the only two left and I felt awful separating them. One of my favorite movies is Trading Places so I named them Randolph and Mortimer. Their names couldn't match their personalities any better. Randolph (we called him Randy for short) was the most sweetest and loving cats who loved to cuddle. Mortimer, although nice and allowing anybody to pet him was little more standoffish.
Two nights ago Randy had a clot, Saddle Thrombus, to be exact, and I was forced to send him to heaven. To say I'm devastated would be an understatement. These two little cats were my everything. They have been through my own personal battles with Leukemia and it was them that was the content foundation of my life for the past 12 years.
I've always wondered what type of cats they were but now as I've had to say goodbye to Randy, my thoughts have turned to Morty and how we will be alone. One day, when we are ready we might be able to take the leap and bring another little kitten into the household. I know each cat has their own personality, and that I'll never again find another Randy but I would like to stay within the same type of breed. If any of you can help shed some insight on what breed they are I would truly truly appreciate it.
Randolph weighed about 18lbs and Morty is around 14. If you need any other additional information please let me know.
