1.5 weeks ago my cat started acting differently.
-sleeping a lot
-walking very slowly
-wobbly
-not drinking water
-only eating a little bit of her dry food. Will eat wet food off my finger, treats and pureed pumpkin. But only a tablespoon or so at a time.
-she's still using her litter box, still grooming herself
She's had 4 visits to the vet since then and no one knows what's wrong.
-they did 2 sets of blood work which showed nothing.
-her temp. was a little high on Monday so they gave her an antibiotic shot
-she's injections of fluids 3x now
Yesterday she had an ultrasound done and it didn't show any tumors. They did say that one of her kidneys was bigger than the other and that there may be some thickening on some tube leading to her kidneys.
Today the urinalysis came back and showed there was a fair bit of blood in the urine.
-they want to do a biopsy of the kidney and tube
-they want to do another urinalysis
-they want her to be admitted to the hospital for observation
I'm at a loss. This all started happening after she spent a lot of time outside when it was 90F. I thought she got heat stroke, but the vet didn't seem to take me up on it.
Has anyone heard of anything like this before? I'm at a loss. I'm scared and frustrated.
Help!
