Hi, haven't posted here (or any forums really) for a long time....
Long story short, had 4 Bengal cats (3 male, 1 female). Over a period of 14 months sadly lost all 3 of the boys to different feline cancers. My fiance split up with me and had the last one of the boys put to sleep on same day. Not a good period in my life!! Anyhow.
I moved and took the remaining cat with me. She's much better and more confident with no other cats around; she is a spayed female, approx 8 years old (at a guess). She is an indoor cat and has had no contact with other cats since Oct last year. Although I don't have her papers with me, she is a purebred Bengal.
Today I've found what feels like a knotted patch of fur/scab just behind her right elbow, very similar in feeling to what would have happened in the past if she'd been fighting with the boys and a claw sheath had become lodged in her fur.
I've tried to investigate but it just seems to be a little scab in her fur. It doesn't feel hot; it doesn't appear to be a lump. She's not over grooming the area. No other scabs or patches that I can feel. She did try to bite me but I think that's more because she can be very narky and doesn't like to be handled on anything other than her own terms, rather than because it actually is hurting (she's one of those cats that looks like butter wouldn't melt but give it a few minutes and she'll try to have your hand off).
Should I be getting her checked out at the vet? I'm just at a total loss as to what might have caused it....
Any thoughts? Sorry, after what happened to my boys I am now verging on the side of paranoia rather than anything else!!
Thx x
