Omg thy are beautiful! How did you tell the sex? Riley had number 3. Two and 3 were back to back. So far one dark tabby and two white and tabby.
It is tricky to determine, so I don't blame any first-timers, but it's quite simple after experiencing it so many times. The females have what almost looks like a little pin-poke right under the anus, and the boys have a teeny little fuzzy hump which are obviously the testicles, and it's a little further down from the anus. If you can get really good pics with the flash on, I can tell you what your kitties are! Do you think she's done with 3?!

Here's some individual shots, they were milk drunk and sleepy so they were so cooperative during the photoshoot!
Pics are attached in birth order. (Boy, girl, girl, girl, boy).

They are precious! Riley has only had 3. She's been eaten and what not. She's acting like she's all done. My problem is I cleaned up the mess and put the kittens in the best with a heating pad and she keeps taking them out laying them on the kinda chilly carpet. I don't know what to do.

Oh and the vet had said there is 4 possibly 5. So I'm not sure what's going on. She had 2 and 3 one after the other. But now she just seems done.

She may be taking a break in her labor. Cats can even deliver kittens days apart. I wouldn't worry as long as she is acting normal. Since she keeps moving them, try moving the nest to another spot in the room and see if that helps her to stop moving them. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Hmm, maybe just lay down the blanket and heating pad under her where she is.
You can try moving them again later on. Do you have a cardboard box!? They like a tight space, with just enough room for her to lay down. They don't like bigger spaces because they get stressed out when the kittens squirm too far away, even if it's just a few inches. I had a small kiddie pool ready for Michelle, I put her in it, but she insisted on being in my closet in the cardboard box. We've compromised, and now I have her in the box next to my bed inside a little gated playpen, for the kittens to explore once they graduate from the box. Definitely try a small box, I bet you it will work! And put the box right where she currently is. In the picture, I can tell that she likes being in the tight corner with her kittens close, so the cardboard box will give her the same comfort.

Now that I've seen the picture, I agree that she wants a tight space right now. I like the idea of putting the blanket and heating pad where she is for now!

Do I put the kittens in th box first? I have a plastic tote I can put on its side so it will feel confined.

This is what I worry about. You see that silver that's my central air duct. The babies can certainly move to the side of it. They won't get stuck but it would be a pain for Riley to get them out from th sides.

Note: I didn't feed her that tuna I had it open to coax her to the nest lol the smell is gets her attention.

Yes, put the kittens in and mom should follow.

I agree that is not a good place for the kittens.

Yes, she will be eager to jump in there right after them. It's okay if they cry, they're just trying to find mama. Have them nurse right away so they kind of force her to lay down, and the pet her and let her know it's okay. Send me a pic of the set up once you've done everything :) fingers crossed that it works! I completely understand why they like the tight places, but I feel so bad! It's like they can't move much, but they like that the most. You can put them all in the big nest you have for them once they start walking at 3-4 weeks.

No worries! Once they're in the box, the box should block off any little nook and cranny that they might crawl into!

I forced her hand. I just don't think it was great for her to keep wanted to go there. Even after I put the tote and blanket she wanted to take them out. So I pushed her food and water bowls in that area so she couldn't go back. She was mad she growled just a tad even she had a baby in her mouth and she noticed the bowls. But she put him down and I'm happy to say she's laying with them in a much safer way :) Should I put a heat sorce in there? The blanket is thick and it's about 68 upstairs.

Thank you guys! She is content. I think she was just frazzled. Because it wasn't the EXACT place she gave birth even though it was inches away lol. I'm still wondering if the vet was maybe wrong. Her belly is still round but I don't feel movement and I'm not sure if I feel a baby.

Yes, add a heating source. That will keep the kittens warm even if mom gets up. Be sure that it doesn't cover the whole nest so they can move if they get too warm.

So cute! Do you have weights on them yet?

Aww, there we go! Easy fix. I'm glad she's settled with her babies now. All mamas are content as can be! I went back to the x-Ray picture you posted earlier on this thread. I think she was only a few weeks in because the skeletons were hard to count and just slightly calcified. I studied the picture for a good 20 minutes, and I counted 3 spines, hence the 3 babies she just had ;) When the x-rays are done early in pregnancy, it can be so tricky to determine the litter size. Perhaps the vet was just a bit off! Since he has her record on the computer, phone him tomorrow and ask to review her picture again, maybe he can rub his eyes and look a little harder, LOL! Good luck :)

I saw 3 too. My daughter's friends mom works at the vet I take Riley to. She said there was 4 in the image ( we texted her to double check lol) and the possible 5th the vet was talking about was towards the top but because she was full of crap it was hard to determine lol. But they say definitely 4. But like you I see 3 lol.

My scale still isn't here from Amazon! I want to weigh them so bad because one looks small.
